The property is in a great location. Just a few steps from the beach. It is in a gated community with security with shared amenities for the people staying there. That being said, this particular unit has a lot of deferred maintainence and was not at all clean. Every surface touched was sticky or dirty or both. We only stayed two days but if we had stayed longer there were insufficient towels for the 3/3 unit. Little things were missing which I would expect in such a highly rated property such as: Kleenex, a hair dryer. The outside furniture was plastic chairs that were cheap and dirty. The entry way patio with grill was all covered and looked like it had not been used in awhile; not at all as represented in the pictures. The unit is three stories which was also not described in the listing and would have made a difference as everyone staying there was over 65. The fireplace was unexplainably unusable, lamps were inoperable - didn't even have a switch to turn on, the rug in the upper room was a trip hazard. Overall very disappointed.

House by the Ocean

We had an excellent stay at Moss Landing. The grounds are beautifully kept with boardwalks straight to the beach alongside an ecosystem of sand dunes. Fantastic large lounge that fits a large family in comfortably. I particularly enjoyed the large main bedroom as it looks out onto the Ocean. Our grandchildren loved running free on the beach and the heated swimming pool. If you want to go out to eat it is a drive away at Monterey. We went on an amazing whale watching tour from there and saw dolphins, sea lions, a shark and many humpback whales. If I had to complain about anything I would say the outside furniture and bbq need updating but just being picky!

Beautiful beach get-away!

Location, location, location! Such a treat to fall asleep listening to the crashing surf. Steps to the sand. We took advantage of the pickleball, basketball, pool and hot tub at the clubhouse too!

We were looking for a quiet beach front location for a relaxing girl’s weekend and we got it! It was a great location with room for all six of us to relax, play games, eat good food, walk in the beach and enjoy ourselves.

A heck of a way to celebrate a birthday!

The views from the dining and living rooms were simply stunning and starting every morning with a walk along the beach is good for whatever ails you. The place was very comfortable - a bit seaside worn in places, but to be expected and not to be worried about. Easy to get to nearby places for further exploring or just stay right there and hang out.

Monterey Dunes

This is the third time we've stayed at Monterey Dunes, in different VRBO's. This one was was clean, well supplied and worked perfectly for our family (5 adults, 2 kids). The property manager gave us timely information on check in and clear information on check out. The pool and hot tub area were great. They're remodeling the office area near the pool and have installed brand new tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. The complex is a short drive to Monterey and Carmel.

Memories with our kids

We had an amazing time with our kids during our stay. The proximity to the beach, the wildlife in the water and around the house, and the house itself met and exceeded our expectations. The only setback would probably be parking in the HOA for an extra car but we made it work with the assigned parking spot and various guest parking spots near the house. The community felt very safe, and the house had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The sunsets each night were beautiful and we enjoyed them from the beach with our kids. We definitely would like to make this an annual trip for our family and would stay here again for sure.

Annual Monterey Golf Trip

The unit was well situated and convenient. Owner was very responsive. We reported a few repair items upon check in. It appeared to be converted for wheelchairs with the ramps on both front and rear entries. Overall we enjoyed the unit and the trip. We usually rent two units for the eight of us.

Beautiful location

Very comfortable accommodation with gorgeous view. The practically empty beach is right there for a beautiful walk. We saw whales. We also enjoyed the community basketball court and hot tub. Perfect for our long weekend.

Great location, good experience

Gorgeous location, with great views from living, dining and master bedroom. It’s a beautiful quiet beach with amazing sunsets, birds and very few people. House is roomy and comfortable, decor is beach house vibe. We had a lovely time and it was a great location to access Moss Landing for whale watching and great coffee/cafe and also Carmel and Monterey. Would definitely consider staying again. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Only improvements suggested - Kitchen implements need some attention - at least one sharp knife or a knife sharpener, the nonstick pans need to be replaced and the dishwasher is ancient and does not clean well. Also several of the door hinges need WD 40 esp. the master bath.

Peace and Tranquility

Looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay? This place is it!! You may think with these being townhouses you might hear your neighbors but that is not the case. We only knew people were there due to their cars parked in the spot. Beach is a very short walk and private as well. We saw whales, dolphines, a seal, and even an otter. We also saw lots of cute bunnies around the vegetation. The house has everything you need for cooking and they even provided shampoo in the showers. They have beach towels if you decide to go to the pool for a swim. Very minimal rules and clean up procedures. Owner is very responsive and nice. We loved this location as it had the same privacy feeling for us coming from the sierra mountains. This will definitely be a future visit for us.

Bright Condo with a View

Pro's: friendly security at entrance, gated community, isolated community, beach to yourself, complimentary bottle of wine, 3 minute walk to beach, modern and clean furnishings, updated and light paint colors on walls and ceilings, ample silverware and dishes, coffee maker and filters, plenty of trash bags, liquid soap at every sink, shampoo and conditioner in each shower, beach towels for the beach, beautiful views of the ocean, new tv's, free wifi, all the appliances worked, including the laundry machines and dryer, and it was a very quiet area. Con's: fireplace was broken, outdated cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms, cabinets are not slow close (we all ended up slamming them on a regular basis), strong musty smell throughout the condo- had to leave windows open and place coffee beans in each room to absorb the odor.
