An absolute country gem that looks and feels a world away. Comfortable and uncomplicated. Re-defines 'well situated' - you can't get much closer to the main events in Tilba than this.
The room that we booked online (with a balcony) was not what we ended up with. Two of the three rooms were in the middle of renovation and uninhabitable.
The advertised full breakfast ended up being self serve granola and toast (with a muffin) the supplied butter was two months out of date.
The issue we have is that none of this was pre-warned or explained while booking, we were offered no discount either.
This place would be great IF it was âas advertisedâ
Very disappointed.
Linda and Ken were incredibly accomodating and welcoming during our stay at the Two Story. The rooms were well furnished and very cozy, and Linda gave us a wonderful rundown of all there was to do in Tilba as well as providing a delicious and flexible breakfast menu. Highly recommended!
Unique setting and preservation of the property. Love the quint setting and small village feel. The owners Ken and Lynda were very friendly, accommodation and helpful with their recommendations...but beware of Ken's man-shake :-)
The B&B was lovely and quaint. We enjoyed the nice village of Central Tilba. The people were delightful, even though we werenât able to meet the owners. The furnishing were cute and the decor was enchanting.
The only two things we would have liked to change; the mattress needs to be replaced and the covering were getting a bit tired and needs updating.
We would definitely come back and look forward to our next visit.
Lots of old world charm at this accommodation. We had the 2 Story B&B to ourselves and found it a pleasant place to stay. Ken and Linda are excellent hosts, with Linda's breakfast outstanding.
Ken and Linda make you feel like you've just come home, although watch out for Ken's gorilla-like grip when shaking hands. Two Story B and B is exactly what you want when you're looking for warmth, charm, service, and price. We absolutely loved this charming little place with its homely charm, the narrow staircase which makes you feel like stepping back in time. Breakfast was served in a way that was homey but not in your face along with an introduction to the family dog, Bridey.
The B&B is in keeping with the quaint, historic feel of the town, although it is showing its age a bit e.g. the lights take a moment to switch on and there wasn't enough hot water for our morning showers. Linda was cheerful and welcoming and made us a nice breakfast.
A delightful place to stay. The owners were friendly and helpful and the room was filled with lots of thoughtful little touches. We ate at the Dromedary Hotel (the food and beer were good). This night was the highlight of our holiday and we would thoroughly recommend staying at Two Story.
Ken and Linda and friendly welcoming hosts and nothing is a bother to them. The rooms are lovely with a little history in there also. Linda makes the best breakfast and while you are there do t forget to buy some of the famous fudge. I B and B we will definitely be back to again. Thanks Ken and Linda
The room was grubby and dusty, uncomfortable bed and pillows. A carafe of water had brown sediment in the bottom- clearly hadnât been changed for some time. Thin walls so the conversation of the guests in the next room was audible. Breakfast very disappointing- rubbery eggs and crispy toast which appeared to have been cooked sometime earlier and kept in the oven to warm. The hosts were friendly but the overall experience was not enjoyable.
