This booking didn't turn out as positively as we'd hoped.
At first, Pierre was helpful and communicated without much delay. We checked in/out easily thanks to a key box.
Most importantly, there are no towels. You have to buy your own from the supermarket. We had 1 roll of toilet paper for the week, had to buy more. The apartment is in a brilliant location. It's in good condition and you get use of a storage room downstairs for skis etc.
The fold down bed isn't comfortable at all. We struggled to get a good nights sleep all week, but that might just be us.
The bathroom and shower facilities are great. Shower had good water pressure and hot water was never a problem. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances too.
So apart from the bed, the apartment is pretty great, considering the price.
After checking out, having left the property in a tidy and relatively clean condition, we received a message from Pierre saying that we had not cleaned the apartment at all and that he was charging us a âŹ60 fee for cleaning of the apartment. Pierre expected us to thoroughly clean the apartment to a professional standard, using the cleaning products. I've never stayed anywhere where that was expected. So know that the apartment might not be properly cleaned when you arrived as Pierre expects the previous guests to do it.
This has left a sour taste and makes it feel like a bit of a scam to increase the cost of rental. We did leave some recyclable materials behind, but âŹ60 euros?
