Very clean, no bugs, everything worked, great location, comfy beds. Host was very kind and responsive to our one minor request: needed batteries for the remote. Property is in rough shape, a lot of deferred maintenance on the outside. Big cracks in the ceiling. If youâre on the first floor, expect the upstairs neighbors will be loud. Proximity to other houses also made it loud. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay.
3 Stars for an extended stay. What we liked: âą Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy âą The kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, and utensils âą The host/property manager was responsive âą Great locationâwalkable and convenient to many top-rated restaurants âą Having a washer and dryer was very helpful âą The shower had excellent water pressure and consistent hot water âą Works well as a short-term stay optionWhat we didnât like: âą The property is on a busy street, which can be noisy âą There was a noticeable sewer smell at times âą Some mildew issues were present âą Appliances were dated (although a new oven was installed on our last day) âą Furniture was not very comfortable for a longer stay âą Outdoor furniture wasnât usable without cleaning âą Online photos appear outdated and donât fully reflect the current conditionSummary:This property has solid fundamentalsâespecially location and basic functionalityâbut falls short for longer stays due to comfort and maintenance issues. Itâs a better fit for a shorter visit where those factors are less impactful.
The communications with the host were wonderful, both in the lead up to our trip, and during. When an unexpected repair issue arose, they were quick to act and moved us to a nearby property.
Communication was great. But, honestly, this place just wasnât for us. It was run down, which I wasnât expecting. The photos in the listing look bright and clean but it was more dark, drab and so/so on cleanliness. The sofa and floral chair (not pictured in listing) are so worn out, you sink into them. Bathroom walls need dusting along with the curtain rod above the bathroom window. The tub drain is super slow so you end up standing in water. The rugs in living room should be replaced. Just not as pictured in my opinion. Beds were good. The A/C and heater do not work even after that being one of the things we requested to be fixed. Front door doesnât stay shut without deadbolt. I went back to the listing to look at the reviews again since I was a bit confused on the condition of the home. A lot of the reviews rated low had a response from the host saying something like âif we had known about this doing your stay we could have fixed this, as the team is available 24/7â. If youâre on vacation, you shouldnât have to manage another homeâs problems. Itâs clear issues with the home have not been corrected. I was excited for this home based on the positive reviews and photos but was let down big time. *Important to note that in the front bedroom you can hear every single noise from the street. Itâs loud.
Host was great. House was clean but the best were the comfort of the beds. It was a bit disturbing being so close to a trauma center. The first night many helicopters
Front lock very poor. worried about theft. devoid of color. lighting inadequte.furniture in front room terrible. tv channels and wi-fi very POOR. What else do you need to know?????
The beds were clean and comfortable. You can hear street noise in the front bedroom. King St is several blocks away but there is a free shuttle bus stop nearby. There is a bagel shop and Mexican grill & bar a couple blocks away.
This house is in a phenomenal location. We parked our car and walked everywhere. The beds were super comfortable and yard was suitable for walking our dog.
some cleaning needs to be done. Air return duct was black with stuff! lost something under bed, went to retrieve it, did not as it was filthy under bed-Dust hair etc. The plug in air freshener was WAY TO STRONG - unplugged it the odor lasted the whole stay -allergies went into high gear. only thing really good was the bed and pillows - very comfortable
I have been travelling to Charleston for last 3 years while my daughter is a student at College of Charleston. This trip we needed a pet friendly home for an extended stay while she moved between rentals. This met every need we had - comfortable, convenient to restauants, clean and quiet. It was appropriately and reasonably priced. We had one minor maintenance issue which was resolved quickly and professionally. We will definitely book through here again.
Staying in this old Charleston home was fun! Yes itâs old and it creaks but I found that charming. Location is close to free bus stop if you donât want to walk. Bed was super comfortable. Would stay again.
Excellent for being able to walk around and enjoyed the quaint neighborhood. The space was very run down, porch is slanted and somewhat falling apart, outdoor furniture dirty and floor paint chipped up. If you have more than 1 vehicle they will not let you park there even though there is enough space. After several messages about parking and not finding a place nearby (they suggested one .7 miles away) they offered us a spot next door for an additional fee. It would have been helpful to have been offered this from the beginning rather than us having to stress about it after arriving. This was not the hospitality we typically get at VRBO and we have stayed in short term rentals all around the world.
We loved our stay in this historic Charleston home. The accommodations were clean and equipped with the perfect amount of linens, and kitchen equipment for a get away trip! The location was perfectly located around little shops, cafes and the shuttle service. It was about a 5-10 min walk to the main drag of King street. This is definitely an older vibe home but we enjoyed the stay!
We stayed only one night but we would definitely stay again. House was easy to access and location was fantastic. Close enough to walk to King Street and enjoy the area. I saw other reviews saying it was loud at night but that was not our experience. It was quiet and relaxing. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay in beautiful Charleston. The house was such a classic style true to Charleston that we felt like we were part of the history. There was lots to see and explore nearby, and a quick drive to the hub of the city. We loved the small town feel of the neighborhood we were in and enjoyed the local coffee shop and bakery. Close to the downtown area but just enough out to not be in all the noise and congestion of the city.
