My husband and I stayed in this little carriage house when we came to Charleston for an event at the Gaillard Center. It was very clean and comfortable.
Small but quaint and clean. Nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Chair and desk included. One parking spot. Close to restaurants. I would book here again.
My husband and I were very pleased with our accommodations. Just what we needed.....small and quaint. Very quiet. The parking spot very close to the cottage was very good since parking in downtown Charleston is a premium. Our only complaint is there was no microwave and the mini frig was broken. However when I called about the frig a technician came out that day to look at it. Although it could not be fixed things happen! We were told a frig was available near by to use. Highly recommend for a couple!
We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the communication from the owners to upgrade us because of construction being done on our original lodging. Overall a good experience.
The Cottage was a perfect stay for us. Location is perfect if you like a little longer walks, but if not, Ubers are very easily accessible. The accommodations were everything we needed. The bed is firm just as a point of note. It was comfortable for us. It was a great stay and the hosts were very responsive!
Nice up and coming neighbor. Unfortunately, not as close to the French Quarter as I expected. As an outsider. I wasnât completely sure of the safety of the neighborhood. Fortunately I had a rental car. Would suggest at least a small couch or oversized chair to relax instead of just the bed.
Property was great! They are remodeling a building right behind, but there were no loud building noises or anything disturbing like that. Super close to downtown, and a great coffee shop down the street for breakfast. As a female, I felt super safe being alone.
THE INNSâ Elegant 1BR/1BA Carriage Home Downtown
Great place with a great price! The area was beautiful and welcoming. The property was exactly as it is listed. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Super easy to do an early bag drop at the main office w couple blocks away at no additional cost. Then they gave us a bottle of wine! The VRBO website says nothing is included, and to bring toilet paper. When we got there, everything was included, like at the Hilton. We did not have a car. It was an easy walk to King Street and there's Ubers and pedicabs everywhere. The unit and grounds were very quiet and we slept well. The local management company was eager to help with anything, and answered e-mails in a few minutes. There is also a phone number for the management company if there is an immediate need but we never used that. Would definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming little carriage house. It was everything we needed for a relaxing stay--clean, aesthetically pleasing, and close to so many great shops and restaurants!
We enjoyed our trip but unfortunately we didn't love the room. The fact that we weren't told about the construction of a building that would be going on right behind the room was very disappointing. When we arrived and saw a van parked right at our door with construction things all over the patio space, that we were supposed to be able to enjoy, we were very upset. We had to be sure and leave the room before 8:00 and not come back before 5:00 because the construction and workers were so loud. We also hated the fact that we had to park down the street at another rental property. When I text about the things all over the patio and only one set of towels in the room, there was a quick response that they would contact the neighbor and another set of towels were delivered when we got back from eating dinner. We should've been told up front there would be construction on the back lot!. We paid a good amount for a room and drove 10 1/2 hours to find out it didn't meet our expectations. Once the workers were gone it was somewhat pleasant but overall it was not worth the money!
This property was the perfect stay!! We did a short stay in Charleston and needed somewhere close to everything and this was it!! Itâs the perfect amount of space for a short trip and the bed/pillows were super comfortable! Short walks to everything you would like to get to! If itâs too far to walk, a short/cheap Uber is the next best option!
We enjoyed the cottage-everything was clean & very easy communication with checkin & checkout. The parking was a little rough since we had an F150 and itâs just a tight 3 space gravel area. But definitely nice enough to stay again!
After reading reviews and seeing beautiful pictures of this property, I felt this was a good choice for my husband and me to stay for four nights. Unfortunately, there were a few disappointments. When we first arrived the outside lacked the maintenance the pictures boasted. This was a clue to the inside. Furniture had pealing paint and the some of the details from pictures were lacking. The room smelled very strong of cleaning chemicals (this lasted two days) but once in the shower I could tell it had not been thoroughly cleaned as hairs from the previous occupants were still visible on the wall. After realizing we were given two very small towels, I requested more for our stay and those were delivered the next day, communication went well between the property management over every need or concern. The bed was very uncomfortable. The fitted sheet constantly came off and it felt like we were slipping around on a thick water resistant pad and the sheet did not fit properly. Between that and the loud air conditioner kicking off and on constantly through the night we did not sleep well. We also experience ants in the bathroom and two very large âpalmettoâ bugs. We were told they werenât cockroaches but after googling they definitely are a type of cockroach. The accommodations lack care and maintenance that are definitely needed if you looked at the pictures and base your decision on those. The place needed a good dusting and care taken to come deep cleaning as well. Overall, I wish we had spent the extra $50 a night and stayed in a reputable hotel closer to the sights. You cannot walk to any attractions from this area of town. This is an honest review. I am sure the property was very nice when these opened but they need some TLC.
