Susan and her husband were the best hosts. They were very detailed oriented at the VRBO and super sweet. Their property had the most stunning views of the marshes. We even got to see an otter. Their terrace provided privacy with our own stunning sunrise views. The property was top notch as well. And some real nice touristy places to explore like Folly Beach and Charleston downtown nearby.

Our stay with Susan was absolutely fantastic. Susan and her husband are incredibly hospitable and helpful. The house was fully equipped—more than you usually experience—with everything from spices to baking paper. There were also beach items available for free use, and when we arrived, there was beer, water, and fresh flowers waiting for us. The house is well-designed, and best of all is the terrace with the most amazing view over the marsh and the lovely pool. The house is close to downtown Charleston, Folly Beach, shopping, and fantastic restaurants. The place is even better than the pictures show, so we will definitely be coming back. Susan and her husband get 5 huge stars from us!

Perfect spot and great hosts

This bungalow was perfect for my small family while visiting family. It was the cleanest rental I have stayed in. The beds were comfortable, which is important to me. The hosts were quick to communicate and answer any questions. They live on property, so we interacted and were extremely nice! We will be staying again next time we are in Charleston.

Fourth of July Fun!

Quaint, quiet neighborhood with gorgeous marsh views and lovely sea breeze. We rented the Villa for out of town family. Susan and Charlie were kind and had no problem with the whole family (6 adults, 2 kids) spending time there. The place was great for two adults and a 10 yr old. The kitchen was well stocked including aluminum foil, ziplocks, big bowls, etc. We did a lot of grilling and spending time on the spacious back porch. When we weren't at the beach, we were in the pool. The outdoor shower was key to refresh before relaxing for the evening. The Villa is behind the main house, but the hosts gave us our space. Easy arrival and departure. Fun time!

Family get away

This villa was absolutely amazing and so very relaxing. I’m just gonna list what we loved. There was nothing to note we didn’t like and as a young family there’s always something. Here Susan thought of it all. The beds super comfy, plenty of space for our family, fully stocked kitchen, great quality linens, back yard for the kids to run, catch crabs, tree swing, and the pool. Susan was an amazing host who was available for questions while we enjoyed a part of their famiy’s paradise in the villa. The views were stunning and even with a little rain one of our favorite trips. We will definitely return to visit friends in the area.

Amazing

If you ever wanna wake up and just stare out of a window and see a morning sunrise above a marsh while watching a family of storks fly by, this is the perfect place for it. From the comfortable beds to the absolutely amazing pool neither my partner or I were disappointed for even a second. We will definitely be returning very soon!! P.S blinds on the windows and doors would be a great addition :)

Wonderful time!

We had the most amazing time on James Island! The property was clean, well decorated, and has absolutely everything you could ever need- from kitchen supplies to toiletries to beach chairs & an umbrella! The hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. The view from the covered porch was picturesque and peaceful. The only slightly negative was that the “private pool” was not quite as private as we expected. It is more of a “borrowed pool” from the hosts’ home. I would go back and stay in a heartbeat; just think it is helpful to know ahead of time regarding pool situation.

Absolutely perfect

Susan and Charlie were amazing hosts! We came for the Highwater Music festival and this property was a great sanctuary away from the crowds. So clean and comfy. They even had beautiful fresh flowers waiting for us. The pool was lovely and the view of the marsh was so nice. And we loved the doggies and kitties! Thank you for a great stay!

Picturesque James Island

There are so many wonderful things to say about the property and owners that I am not sure I can do it justice. The Villa was clean, comfortable and the view is breath taking. Waking up each morning to look out the large windows to see the sheer beauty of the marsh and the sun is unbelievable. Our kids took more pictures than we did! The property is located a short 15 minute drive from Charleston Market and the French Quarter. Local dining is amazing and worth the wait. Susan was extremely helpful all through the process and made our family feel welcome throughout our stay. Thank you Susan for all your help and sharing your wonderful property with our family. It is a stay we will never forget and hope to return!

Terrific location and clean, neat little property

We loved the porch with the hanging bed and swinging egg seat. I would sit out there in the mornings with my coffee and watch the birds in the bird sanctuary and the yard. And we saw some cool ones! Including the blue heron, white egret, white ibis, and eastern bluebird. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, which is just what my partner and I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life/work. Plus it was convenient to downtown Charleston and the King Street area (note to other users - do some research in advance on where the public parking lots are located). The unit was well-supplied with toiletries, towels, kitchen utensils, etc. My only suggestions would be to lower the TV on the wall (you need to crane your neck a bit to watch it on the wall), replace the mattress in the bedroom on the right (it dips in the middle), and replace the pillows in both bedrooms. The place is such a little sanctuary away from city life, even if Charleston is only a 10 minute drive. Alexa was able to put down that country music while I wine down on her swing sofa. Definitely recommend.

Magical property

This is a fabulous property - incredible view looking towards Charleston and property is elevated on the 2nd floor so you can take it all in. Large lawn. Pool. Very updated and clean. Great porch with a dining area and grill. Would definitely stay again.
