We did not stay out second night and were very disappointed with our stay. No where in your listing does it say anything about the rear driveway and then having to go up stairs that are extremely unsteady. The beds are too firm. It was hard to sleep with light shining through the windows, the curtains did nothing to block out the street light in front of the house. The house is not cleaned well and the stuff behind the bed was gross lots of dust. There is mildew or mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and in the corner of the floor next to the tub. Neighborhood felt unsafe.
Over all it was great though If you have a hard time with stairs you may want to reconsider. It was very close to Ruby Falls, Rock City and Tennessee Valley RR. House was nice and cozy but, If you're a non-smoker bring room spray. Google Maps will take you to the wrong driveway so make contact for directions.
The house met our needs. Itâs a cute house, nice layout and itâs generally clean, aside from some mildew on the bathroom ceiling (no exhaust fan). It does smell a little musty. We couldnât decide if it smelled like smoke or like dampness. You donât notice it once youâre in the house for a while though.
The location was perfect for us! So close to everything we wanted to do, including Rock City, dinner at the Governors Mansion Inn, river boat tour, etc. The house was clean, but is old and did have a musty smell, but didn't trigger my allergies. The host was very responsive and quickly addressed issues with the outside furniture. The decor was nice.
It was a nice location, pretty decor. However, couches were very dirty (crumbs still under cushions). And couches aren't pull outs except for a small dirty thing accent chair was a pull out. The outside chairs are very rotten/dry/falling apart, we didn't feel comfortable to sit around the fire. Beds are comfy, and great water pressure in the showers
This property not only created a perfect mountain retreat atmosphere, but also included all the possible amenities a guest could need. There were plentiful linens and towels as well as kitchen tools and dishes. We appreciated the laundry as it rained while we were hiking. It was more than obvious that the owners took pride in keeping the accommodations clean and inviting for guests. We will definitely book again when we return to Smoky Mountain National Park! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Property was clean and nice. The entrance the property was in the back and host let us know that. Only problem we had was finding sheets for the sofa bed. We did eventually find them though. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Property was not as pictured. Two queen beds as pictured, however no full futon in place. No sofa beds, however, host brought it a queen air mattress for us. Can only accommodate 6 people if non couples are ok sleeping in same bed.Unable to get decent TV until second night when host put in their own Amazon password. I would totally recommend this property.
This is a cute house that we enjoyed staying in. The smart TV made family movie night easy and the two separate bedrooms gave us plenty of sleeping space. A few details: There were no smoke detectors installed when when checked in. As someone who is scared of house fires, this terrified me as I put my 3 small children to bed. My husband had to drive to Walmart at 10:00pm the first night to buy a smoke detector. The owner finally responded after a few hours (not a huge deal and he did give me his cell number after this) and said he would have them installed the next day. He installed 2 out of 3 and 1 kept going off so we had to take it down. He never did replace the two broken smoke detectors. So for an old house with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, a sun room, and living room, we had one smoke detector in one bedroom. I was not happy and grateful we could add our own to the kitchen. But we should not have needed to. I never asked about the carbon monoxide detector, but I didn't see one of those either. Both of these are listed on the property as installed. Since the owner lives downstairs, I'm shocked at his nonchalant attitude as he rents out his house and has a gas fire pit and a gas grill available. Also, the kitchen is very minimum. The post does not lie about this and everything listed is available, but nothing else. There are no measuring spoons/cups, and no Tupperware. Just wanted to mention as we ended up missing them.
The address is not really on your GPS. A rope blocks the actual driveway. You have to contine past yhe address, turn on the next road, go back up the road behind, and then several very sharp turns into the back driveway. The unit was nice and clean. Parking was an issue. We arrived at check in time and listened for over 3 hours while the caretaker weed eated and blew off the property. So, sitting on deck was not an option. Oh, and there's a camera watching the deck...
This home had nice furnishings and the beds were comfortable. The home was older and showed its age. The bathrooms were not clean. The neighborhood was transitional although beautiful homes on the ridge quite different down the hill.
