The house was extremely nice, 16th century, right near downtown, couldnât be nicer, but Iâve never had such a difficult time with a host in my life. She would not send me the key code, I had to call her on the phone, which was difficult without a calling plan. I had great directions to the house from the property manager, but she directed me to the house across the street, specifically telling me it was on the left instead of the right and to look for a sign that said Springfield house #2, even though I knew it was middle gable. I got into terrible trouble with that owner because of it. If she hadnât insisted on giving me all the info by phone, when I couldnât hear her at all, it could have been so much easier, same with the location of the key box, I couldnât understand her and needed a neighbors help to get in. The door was extremely swollen and wouldnât open, 3 of the neighbors helped and even offered to let me stay at their place when we couldnât get it to work. Then she told me it was my fault that i had trouble with the latch. The worst issue was the heat- of lack of it. She controls the heat from her house, and refused to turn it up over 15 degrees. We all wore coats in the house the whole time, even with several calls to her throughout the week. My nephew left two days early as they were too cold to stay any longer. The sweet neighbor let us come into her house to warm up for a bit. I felt victimized by this owner, I would never rent from this woman again.
