Quirky hotel with loads of charm, and very hospitable staff. Only challenge is if you're in the attic rooms and taller than 4'1" when trying to use the loo!

Beautiful boutique hotel in Chester

Pros: Location Service Interior Decor
Cons: My front window overlooked the beer garden which was fairly noisy at times. The hotel needs to ensure guests are aware of this. Lifts
Location: Shopping Eating Bars
Oddfellows have 18 rooms which have a quirky decor which I loved. Tea, coffee machine and water are all included. The hotel is located very near the shopping mall (5 mins walk) and there are many restaurants nearby. There is a bar and beer garden which is most likely lively on the weekend so be prepared! The restaurant doesn't have many choices however I'm sure you'll find something to your taste. They also gave a 20% voucher for food/drink. Reception were really helpful and offered lots of idea's on what to do and see in the area. Overall this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Worth every penny.

Swanky but not amazing

Pros: The Decor. The swanky cocktail bar. The location. The double bath.
Cons: The hotel room. We had the attic room, which basically meant you had to watch your head as you walked around. Yes, it was nice to have 2 baths side by side, the shower was a great design, but for the price (£225), it wasn't worth it. The room was the last one left when we booked, and it's not hard to see why! Also the shower flooded as it didn't drain properly. The other issue was I let the hotel know it was my 40th birthday, to which they gave me a choice of options – £50 champagne, £25 flowers etc and they did give me a card... but c'mon... would have been nice to get some sort of treat. Sure, I could be making it up, but I was disappointed to not receive a complimentary bottle of some kind. Also, breakfast wasn't included in the price, and a full english was... wait for it... £20!!! So although this is a boutique hotel in a great location, the room was a disappointment.
