When we arrived the unit had a very unpleasant odor. It clearly had been cleaned thoroughly with a slight smell of bleach present, but it could not eliminate the bad odor. The cleaning person was very kind and had clearly done a good job but could not alleviate the smell - kind of like mildew and dog.. We left the windows open while we went to eat, which did help some. Plus one window wouldn't lock.
Calling this room a suite is a stretch .. More like a low-end motel room with a couch, mini fridge, and microwave. There was a Keurig coffee machine but no cups and no cream and sugar. There were two wine glasses but no way to wash them. There was no kitchen. The towels were adequate, the sheets were worn. The building is on a gravel lot on the working wharf. The curtains were not sufficient to completely block the windows from someone looking in. Fortunately it's off season and no one was actually back there. It was okay for a motel room, but extremely expensive and not at all what I expected.
The building has very thin walls - we were kept up night after night by the neighbours partying. The landlord was not available by phone. The door lock did not work - the landlord would not fix it.
Upon arriving at The Digue Suites , we found our dockside room and was able to park directly outside our door. This was handy for luggage access etc.
The room was very clean and charming. Nice large shower with plenty of towels as well. Decor was unique and furniture has seen some better days but were all functioning. The bed was comfortable and clean. There is a small fridge , microwave and coffee maker as well.
We walked to Le Gabriel for dinner and some live entertainment, which turned out to be a lovely evening.
Absolutely loved the area and explored the Cheticamp Island as well. Stunning views from the lighthouse.

It was easy to find. Central to everything we needed. It slept 6 easily. The only issue we had was there were no coffee pods or shower soap or gel. We ended up having to go but these things. For the price of what we paid it should have been stocked in my opionion.

There was hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived in our room. The room is in need of an update and sound proofing.
In comparison to our previous rooms price wise this was pricey for the room.
Moldy-smell in the bedroom. Toilet bowl started to smell in the evening. Lumpy mattress. Grass was not cut. Lobster cages pilling up in front porch. Unattractive view to a repaired ship and old ship yard. TiVi did not working properly; have to call twice to get it fix. Instructions to the rental unit was not sent out prior to arrival date. Recommendation: Expedia needs to improve the screening process to ensure the quality of the rental properties is as listed in order not to diminish customersâ confidence. Some Pictures of the property are not the true reflection of the conditions of the rooms.
