The property was in a great location for us, and was quite comfortable. We prepared Thanksgiving dinner, the property had all the kitchen items we needed. Everything was extremely clean and working, the host communication was clear and timely. Would definitely rent this one on another trip to Chicago.
It's a nice apartment. We did have some issues. Unit is managed by Red Awning & cared for by a Concierge company. I had trouble getting in because it gave me a code for the electronic keypad. There was a lockbox & a keypad on the wall. I didn't notice that the door itself had a keypad until the next morning. I was given a code to get into the lockbox. There was only a partial roll of toilet paper plus another roll. We had to buy some toilet paper ourselves because we couldn't contact the Concierge company. That said, again, it was a nice unit in a quiet neighborhood just a long block from Andersonville's main street.
Excellent location in a prime neighborhood, in a flat with classic holiday let quirks that Europeans will especially appreciate--individual heating/cooling in every room, and a proper kettle, in a flat larger than most of our houses. Run by an extremely responsive management company. Enjoy.
Great location on a quiet street one block away from Clark. King bed was an unusual plus and new matress was comfortable. Plenty of towels and good water pressure. We would have appreciated directions for the coffee maker. There was a lovely unopened package of good quality coffee in the kitchen on our arrival, but no sugar.Check-in process was complicated; I eventually had to call VRBO to make contact with the host.
The place was super nice, very clean, and quiet. It was perfectly located for our needs. We were visiting my daughter and brand new granddaughter, and hope to make it our new home away from home when we visit.
TV remote did not work and several times a day there was a sewage odor throughout the apartment. It is a basement My first VRBO stay and will be my last. This is why I am a âhotel â person.
What a great place! Perfect for a stay close enough to everything! Very comfy beds, and couch (tv remote was literally the only thing I can complain about!)
This was an excellent property. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely apartment accommodations. The Andersonville area is just a few blocks away and includes restaurants, artisan shopping, and walkability. Also it was close to some of the Broadway Ave theaters where we saw a show. It was easy to take a train back toward the city. Our daughter lives up north that way and We definitely would stay there again.
Perfect spot for a Loyola move-in or stay for visiting college
We booked this spot to move our son into Loyola and is was perfect. We enjoyed the neighborhood and walked to the lake (about a 20 min walk there) and local restaurants were amazing! Very convenient to have Walgreens within a couple blocks too!
Very cute neighborhood. Simple interior design made it a cozy garden apartment. Beds were very comfortable. Laundry is shared with building. Canât use the backyard but the Adirondackâs in front are lovely to people watch and have coffee. Would coma back again.
Clean, comfortable apartment in great neighborhood
Beautiful city neighborhood with much to do within walking distance. Well-appointed, clean garden apartment met our needs completely. Would definitely stay here again.
Overall, this property was not bad. The management company that ran this listing had lightning quick responses to my questions. Check in was easy as it was a lock box outside. Location is great. Very safe. Close to cafes and restaurants. There is a train station about 20-30 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk. Washer laundry in the back, shared with other residents and free.
The cons
I think this is a con for most short term rental property. Floors are not the cleanest. I suspect the cleaners just vacuum and not mop hardwood/tile floors. You can hear people walking upstairs. Probably why there are ear plugs in the night stand drawers. To get to the garbage/recycling cans, you have to go through the back yard. Sometimes the long term residents let their dog out in the backyard. Dog was friendly but just a warning to those who arenât dog people. Parking can be a little difficult, but not impossible. When coming back at night, you may have to park a minimum block away, unless you get lucky. But thatâs major city problems.
Overall this property was good. Location is great. Very safe neighborhood. Most of the cons are out of the hands of the property managers. Would recommend to people visiting chicago
Please add instructions for the coffee maker. Grateful for the granola bars and tea selection! Plenty of on street parking. Go to âde flouredâ one block away for best pastries!! Youâll never know they are gluten free!
Wonderful apartment in the heart of Andersonville. Comfortable, clean, well equipped. We will stay here again, since it met all of our needs! Great communication with property manager.
