Excellent place to stay while exploring Chicago and Oak Park. Easy walk to Green and Blue Line stops, as well as to the business districts of Oak Park. Fold out cot was perfect for a child. Bed was soft but tended to be over warm, so plan less sleepwear. Kitchen was fully equipped. Host is very communicative. Overall a fantastic stay!
Our stay here was ok. The heat was on so it was hot with no way of turning it down or off. We opened windows and used the fans. There is a window a/c in the main living area, which we used a couple times. It doesnât cool the bedroom, but does cool the rest of the place. The bed is an older memory foam mattress on a frame. The sheets and comforter were nice and cozy. The living room area has a small couch and a very uncomfortable recliner that doesnât recline. It wasnât easy to unwind after walking around Chicago all day. The loud neighbors who smoke weed are still there. The hallway smelled of weed in the evenings. Once you get into the unit you donât smell it anymore. There are several locks on the door so you feel safe. I love having a designated parking spot. It was a relief to come back in the evenings knowing I wouldnât have to search for a parking spot. I donât like to be negative, but reviews are an important part of VRBO that help make it work. This is my honest opinion of the place.
This was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I to stay for our little 48 hour trip. Every thing was perfectly explained in detail and that helped so much because we got there later at night. It is right outside the city and has great options located all around as well. I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Chicago area.
I texted the host a question and he almost immediately got back to me and talked me through the entire check-in process, and he didnât hang up until he was sure we were able to get in! This was my first out-of-state trip with my boyfriend, so it was an enormous relief to have such a dedicated host to help us out! Additionally, the interior was tidy and very pleasantly decorated!
Was a great trip. Was a little further out of thwe city then i thought. But doable with the rail and bus line. Only reason for a 3 star check in process is because the entry door locks need to be replaced. Was hard to get into the building.
The property is clean, well furnished, attractively laid out and well equipped. We were particularly glad of the kitchen supplies, which meant we didnât need to buy all our basic provisions from scratch. We were delighted by the area: Oak Park has history, charm and enormous character: the 10-minute walk to the L station was a pleasure. There's a good supermarket just 5 minutes walk away. Ali looked after us attentively and helpfully.
We came up for my best friends birthday weekend and it was perfect. Location is incredible for people wanting to stay just on the outside of the city, plenty of food options close by. Overall excellent stay.
Place overall was great in terms of value. All required amenities were there. Lots of shops and stores nearby as well. Just 30-40 minutes by transit to downtown. Just keep in mind that area can be a bit sketchy on the blue / green line at night, especially around Austin/Pulaski.
We spent 5 nights here to see Metallica's 2 concerts in Chicago and take in the beautiful sights of the city. The apartment offers free parking but we decided to use public transportation and uber since parking in Chicago would have been difficult. The walk to the train station is 15 to 20 minutes, we used the train to go to Chicago but used Uber every evening to take us straight to the apartment.
The bed is comfortable and bedding is nice. The host Ali is quick to answer questions or help with anything you need. Overall we had a great stay.
tricky.
