It was like staying in an office building under construction. Very strange situation with persistent long lines waiting for the one working elevator. I would not have booked here if I had known the current condition.

The staff was great, it was nice they have a free cocktail bar at night where you get two adult beverages everyday. The breakfast was decent for a free breakfast. the bad, the hotel was under construction which was not communicated at time of booking. Only one elevator was operational so the wait times were long every time. The walls in the hotel were paper thin. The room next to us was empty but we could hear the kids two rooms down our entire stay. Pictures online show a walk in shower, not what our room had, and the beds were not comfortable.

I usually love the Kinzie. This stay was a little different I understand they are doing a lot of remodeling which is great, but the customer service was not on point I didn’t have soaps or towels in my bathroom. Plus I had emailed thru my reservation for an accommodation and never received a response. I just don’t know if I would book again at this time

So, I’ve booked the Kinzie before (maybe 2 years ago if so) to celebrate my husbands birthday (staycation) and we were blown away by everything, they even upgraded us for being a VIP on Expedia. This time, horrible. First of they don’t tell you they are doing renovations, which is ok, but the hostess has a very small desk, nothing fancy. It looks like it’s all kind of put together last minute, and that includes the rooms as well. The cleanliness 5/10. The vents were dirty, the bathroom was not properly clean, the showier curtains were so so. It looked like they went to hobby lobby and bought anything that looked like “hotel vibes”. The view of our room was a wall (no one said anything about it- and whenever we asked the host if they were doing room renovations he said no, that those are the normal rooms and they’re been like that since always, which is a lie because I’ve been there before and they have 0 comparison). Overall it was not the best experience and I won’t be staying here anymore.

The staff was very friendly and the bed was comfortable. The room was nice enough except for the horribly stained ottoman and couch. The lobby (check-in was a makeshift desk) and elevator waiting area was under construction which I was not forewarned about and only 1 elevator was working the entire time (on St. Patties day weekend) which made the wait times longer than anticipated. I paid extra for a "city view" and that mainly consisted of a roof level view full of old and unsightly A/C units and a tiny bit of city view if I looked to the sides. When I emailed my concerns with the room, I never received a response back of any kind. I made do and the bed was comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep but past that I would not recommend this hotel until they get a few things under control.

Only 1 working elevator on what was one of the busiest weekends in the city was wild. At one point we timed a 5 minute wait for the elevator. And stairs were not an option bc they only open on the 1st floor to a creepy alleyway. Besides that, all the staff were plesant, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Being so close to the HoB makes this our go to hotel when seeing concerts.
