I appreciated how close this property was to Chicago OâHare. This helped us sleep close for an early morning flight. However, the facility didnât smell the best; there were multiple entrances that did not close, so that anyone could just walk in the hallways; and the overall location did not appear to be a safe location.
This place was the worst!!!! We arrived to a room that smelt horrible/potent. There was a fan going at the time - which I quickly turned off not realising, it was an ozone box. We were in the room (myself and a child) for less than ten minutes and both felt awful. Asthma like conditions, headache and disturbances in vision. I tried to open the window to provide ventilation but would not open. Went downstairs and asked the reception guy, who was just so helpful and a delight to communicate with. He came up and opened the window, agreed that the room smelt horrible - but unplugged the box very quickly and took it. The look on his face though gave it away!!! My child had taken a photo of the box and started investigating!!!! It was then we realised we should not be in the room and that it was very harmful for us. Went back downstairs and informed the guy which he answered yes that machine was turned off hours ago - they must have forgotten to take it out of the room! Absolute BS!!! I turned it off 20 minutes ago!!!!!! No wonder we were starting to feel terrible. He quickly gave us another room but alas when we went back up to move rooms there was a woman standing outside our door begging to come in for a shower??? She was pleasant enough but wow - how did she even get into the place???
Two days later we are still having respiratory issues- I rang the manager who was rude and obnoxious and hung up on me. Only needed a place for a few hours between flights- health risk big time!!
Overall an affordable and decent place to stay! We didn't spend much time in the room, however:
-The front desk employees were kind/helpful
- While in need of some minor cosmetic repairs (chipped floors, peeling trim exc.) the room was clean and comfortable
-It was a tad noisy in our first floor room due to outside noises at times (not the hotels fault)
-If you are looking for a cheap, clean stay, go for it
-I would not recommend for anyone traveling with busy kiddos, as it's just your basic hotel with few amenities (no pool or anything kid friendly in the immediate area)
We were happy with our 2 night stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Always enjoy staying here when in Arlington Heights for my Job a couple times a month. Affordability is perfect. Itâs Clean and havenât seen a bug yet.
