SpringHill Suites Chinatown is my go-to place to stay in Chicago. It’s super clean, the staff is excellent, there are lots of food options nearby, and the El is within walking distance. I’ve heard some people say that Chinatown is sketchy, but I’ve always felt very safe there—as long as you take the usual big city precautions.
I’m a little disappointed that the flat parking lot a block away isn’t available anymore, but my understanding is that it’s a city issue. There is parking attached for $30 a night with in-and-out privileges, which is convenient and reasonably priced for Chicago.
All in all, it’s a good stay.
To get to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, or the Art Institute, it’s just one El stop and a 10-minute bus ride away.
