Peaceful stay at the bottom of Canyon de Chelly.

All good except for barking dog in nearby wire cage. Enjoyed dinner in cafeteria.

Staff does not allow early checkin even 50min even though rooms are available. Only way around it is to pay $15 early check in fee. Bath tub had some hair even though it was supposed to have been cleaned.

Clean sheet and bath towels and showing area are clean but behind area and air condition heating machine are super dusty so l cleaned up. Parking is very easy and comfortable room feels comfortable and warm without heating. Check in system is very easy and fast so I feel comfortable. If behind areas are clean up this hotel much better. Hotel looks very unique and cultural.

Cozy southwest atmosphere

The Thunderbird Lodge is a delightful place to stay while visiting Canyon de Chelly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It appears that they have recently been renovated in a sophisticated southwest design. There is a nice gift shop and restaurant on sight.

This place is a dump. The rooms are shabby and dark. The laundry facility (with one washer) was out of service. The restaurant (really a “cafeteria”) was terrible - the food was dished largely from a steam table - barely warm) by unfriendly staff. Disappointing that this is the main option near this spectacular National Monumment.

The location of the Lodge is perfect, right inside the National Monument. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Coffee maker did not work, very bright floodlights shining in windows curtains could not block plus other unshaded or poorly shaded lights (dark sky community). The main entrees at the cafe, chicken fried steak and chicken Alfredo, bottom of barrel for nutrition and expensive.

There are very few options in Chinle, this is probably the best. It was clean, hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is just so so. We took a tour of the canyon through Thunderbird and it was excellent, would recommend.
