The photo's for the Shepard's hut are from a few years ago as the property is tired. When we arrived we were met by 2 free running dogs and chickens which was not ideal for us and our dog. Although the dogs were friendly and were called into the house after a while. The area would benefit from having a fenced in area for your dog so they could not chase the chickens or disappear into the field in front of the hut with the horses. We could not get hold of the hosts as there was no telephone signal at the hut so after walking 20 minutes back to the main road we were able to leave a message for the host as we were unable to close and lock the doors on the hut. Finally found out when Darren (host) called back as he was on holiday in France that you needed to connect to wi-fi before your phone would work . We did not stay a single night in the hut we came home. Would not recommend staying if you had a small dog as they could get through the bushes that surrounded the property and disappear. Would say it is small and a struggle with more than 2 of you.
The Shepherds Hut is so well situated and well appointed; we enjoyed our one night stay very much. We had a lovely relaxing evening and an equally great breakfast on the deck enjoying the fresh air. Darren and Jax have created a perfect little escape.
Beautiful shepherds hut in an idyllic setting, very well equipped, great communication and the most beautiful place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the peace and tranquility
Great location. First time in a Shepherds Hut or similar and despite my initial reservations I found the whole experience enjoyable. Well thought out and had everything needed for a short stay. Good and attentive hosts.
