Montagne de style confortable et relaxant niché dans Hemlocks surplombant crique tranquille sur lac vierge Burton. Les propriétés se composent de 7 acres de bois, de champs et un ruisseau et est un bel endroit pour explorer un ancien camp Boys.

House propose maßtre costume avec séparés coin salon avec cheminée. Grand salon / salle à manger avec cheminée géante, cuisine gastronomique avec vue sur le lac de petit déjeuner, et principales chambres à coucher au sol ont chacun leur propre privé projeté en porches. La maison est meublée dans des meubles d'époque et belles piÚces Stickley partout.

Quai de bateau avec disponibles glissement est lacustre et 1000 pieds Ă  l'intĂ©rieur d'une zone de non-sommeil. Des vues spectaculaires de montagne sont juste Ă  l'extĂ©rieur la crique et location de bateaux sont Ă  seulement dix minutes. Droit de poisson sur le quai ou pĂȘcher Ă  la mouche sur la riviĂšre Soque seulement 15 minutes.

La maison se marie parfaitement l'ancien et le nouveau. Murs lambrissĂ©s de chĂȘne avec des planchers de bois franc. Cuisine et maĂźtre costume coin salon option langue et bosquet de pins plafonds voĂ»tĂ©s
Master bain a pieds baignoire et Ă©norme 6'x6 'douche avec 3 tĂȘtes. Toutes les principales salles de bains de sol ont chauffĂ© les planchers de tuiles.

Property was good, but the house was very musty and smelled of dog pee also had lots of spider webs inside the house. location was great, and the access to Lake Burton was great.

Lots of memories for our family from this property. Very pleasing to us personally to see so much of the its history preserved. Kitchen and living areas are conducive to multiple guests. Great views from the porches of the lake and dock-actually caught a glimpse of a bear wandering in the woods. Host readily available and responsive.

A Dream Come True

This was our third visit to this amazing property! The house and surrounding forested acreage are beautiful. Whether you are looking for a peaceful retreat or the perfect spot for great fun on the lake, this is your place! An HoH summer redux.

A perfect long weekend in dear HoH. We have many fond memories of this place from its Camp Cherokee for Boys days. The revised HoH was fully equiped with a full kitchen, laundry facilities and many comfortable bedrooms. Three floors made sleeping arrangements very convenient. Beautiful Lake Burton and a private dock were steps away. Swimming and boat rental ( at a nearby marina) were easy and a treat. The owner was always available via phone or text for any questions. HoH would be a perfect mountain/ lake retreat for anyone but especially those with summer memories of the Camp. We hope to return next summer with our Grandchildren to share the wonderful memories. Thank you

Wonderful Home

We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and had the most magical time. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for all 9 of us. It is within walking distance of a great restaurant with a lively bar. Kitchen is extremely well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare our holiday meal. The open green space was perfect for a family kickball game.

Fantastic Lake Burton House

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this lakehouse! The house has plenty of space inside and out and is quite comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The house has some fantastic photos and memorabilia from when Camp Cherokee was on the premises. I’d recommend this house to a friend.

The best rental on Lake Burton!

We have been staying on Lake Burton for 20 years. A couple of years ago, we discovered this magnificent property. We’ve stayed at several different rentals, but this one tops them all. The house itself is uniquely beautiful in the style of a great lodge. The furnishings are gorgeous, and all appliances are the top of the line. The kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfy, and the primary bathroom even has a claw-foot soaking tub! The surrounding property consists of an amazing forest of trees and various flora with several hiking trails. It is very private . The boat house easily accommodated our sport boat and two jet skis. We really enjoyed swimming off the dock. The owner is one of the nicest people and eager to see that his guests have a great time! We now measure time by counting the days until our next visit! Don’t miss out on this gem!

Best Weather Ever

We have stayed here in the past and again enjoyed our stay. Mr. Bell is always attentive to any needs and it is hard to go wrong with this large rustic place. We spent most of our time on Lake Burton. It is so nice to have such a quiet place for the kids to swim. We will definitely be back! This is the first year it didn’t rain the entire week which was so nice.

Family get together

We had a great time together! There were four kids ages 2-6 and there were lots of games, toys for them. Plenty of space for the ten of us to spread out. Screened in porches to enjoy the outdoors while it rained. We enjoyed the meadow playing kickball and baseball and enjoyed exploring the area. Would love to go back!

The only thing that I would change would be to put some new TVs in the house that work. And the internet is sub-par. Otherwise, the charm was very well enjoyed. It felt like staying at a friend's house for the weekend. I would not hesitate to stay at this place again.

Amazing property

When our original cabin was canceled at the last minute due to water issues, we found Jim's cabin. I have to admit sometimes plan B turns out to be much better than our first choice. Everyone loved it! Thanks for the great memories.

This place was really fun! The family had a great time and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Great stay!

Jim is very good at communication, and the house was well stocked. We had such an enjoyable week. The no-wake zone area on the lake is great for paddle boarding or canoeing! Morning coffee on the screened porch was one of our favorite things.

A Wonderful Week on Lake Burton!

We had such a great time at this unique property! The house, the surrounding woods, the lakefront
 even more than we had hoped for. The amazing house was very clean and comfortable, the chef’s kitchen well equipped with top-of-the-line products. The dock and boathouse were perfect for our boat and jet skis, and we enjoyed swimming from the dock. A great place, too, for our dogs who also enjoyed swimming and exploring the many beautiful trails. A very interesting, historical property! Can’t wait to return!

Lake Burton

Jim was a great host and handled everything we needed. The property was an amazing historical boys camp started in the 20’s and the old buildings are still around. The main house has lots of character and history. Our teenagers stayed in the second building and had their own space. The lake was great and we had a blast.

LOVED this place! The house is very homey and well kept, stocked with everyday needs, clean and super comfy. Everyone enjoyed discovering the history and nature around the house and the property. There’s a restaurant in walking distance if you want to take a stroll for some good food or a drink or both! The area of the lake was perfect for the kids to canoe and kayak on and feel safe and the boat house/dock provided the perfect spot for having a day at the lake. The owner was quick to respond and we 100% recommend this place to all who want to experience a beautiful piece of Lake Burton!!

Sleeping accommodations and cleanliness need improvement

I rarely submit negative reviews on VRBO but felt other renters need to fully understand a few critical details of this property. The positive
It is in a beautiful wooded setting and has a very unique warm, cozy and rustic interior. We really enjoyed our time together in the common area of the home, especially around the fire. The home is filled with antiques, artifacts, games and lots of local history. The owner provides plenty of supplies and there were basics for coffee etc. The concerns
The main house is old and in need of a VERY thorough cleaning. Almost every blanket had dog hair and there were mouse droppings on the pots/pans stored under the kitchen island as well as other less used surfaces. The sleeping arrangements were a challenge for our family, especially our 80+ year old parents. The bunk/guest house is not an environmentally feasible option as you are overwhelmed by the smell of mold & dust as soon as you walk in. There was dust and dead insects on the bedding in the bunk/guest house and again, we cleaned, we stripped beds, washed & attempted to air out the rooms to accommodate our group. We were planning on using this part of the property. We decided it just wasn’t healthy to sleep there and made a few trips to Walmart in Clayton to get air mattresses for the family members that could no longer use the 4 beds in guest/bunk house as planned. We ended up with adults sleeping on the floor in the basement and soon discovered they had nightly visitors (rodents) as we cleaned droppings each morning from a window sill and a corner. We decided to cut our trip short by a night to get everyone (especially our parents) back to an environmentally clean, and comfortable setting. There were other issues but my intention is not to overly critique a property and find fault in every detail. If you rent this property confirm that the size of beds (full, twins etc.) will comfortably fit your party and I would ask the owner for verification that the mold, dust, rodents etc. have been addressed if you plan to use the bunk house or sleep on the basement floor. All in all this will go down in our family memory book as a “unique” experience. Safe travels!

Amazing property

We very much enjoyed our stay! The property is beautiful and absolutely amazing! The house is charming and feels more like you are borrowing the house from a relative rather than a rental house. We all enjoyed our time fishing, swimming, boating and hiking. A great long weekend!
