We were not impressed with this property for the following reasons: The online description was misleading. The first half shows images of bedroom 1 with 1 twin and 1 queen, and bedroom 3 with 1 twin and 1 double. The description below does not match the images. The lower bunk of the bunk bed was bent, so the mattress did not lie flat. In addition, the bedding did not include a mattress pad (gross), and the pillows, although plenty of them, were all in terrible condition. The bathroom sink and shower on the lower level did not drain properly. The property had an overwhelming smell of the fireplace upon entry. We will not stay here again.

Quiet Time

We were very happy with the Vrbo, it was spacious, clean and very well decorated. We loved the art work on the walls! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Also there was a fantastic supply of K-cups for coffee. We used the fireplace both nights and there was plenty of firewood on site. Lastly, the host was wonderful. She immediately responded to my questions and requests. One suggestion: for short or older people it would be helpful to have a step stool to get into bed.

Great Stay in Clear Lake!

I took my seven kids to the lake house for a weekend getaway. We had a great time! We loved the lake/fishing decorating theme. The house was a perfect fit for us. It comfortably slept 8. The main level has a nice open floor plan. Although we did not use the fireplace, it is beautiful and would be a wonderful amenity in the cooler months. There is a nice view of the lake from the front porch. The host was very helpful with a question that I had during our stay. The house is in a nice location close to many of the Clear Lake attractions. We highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Clear Lake!

Winter Dance Party 2024

Wonderful stay during Winter Dance Party weekend. Clean and comfortable house to gather as a family of 5 - plenty of space if you have more guests too. Owners were kind and attentive!

Charming

Lovely cottage style home with a gracious and accommodating host. The built in fireplace made for some cozy family time on the cold evenings, and the direct access to downtown Clear Lake made finding things to do easy. Cleanliness was a bit to be desired, I ended up doing a bit of my own cleaning before the rest of my family arrived. But other than that, it was a throughly charming getaway.

Another comfortable stay!

We were in town for a concert at the Surf. It’s hard to beat the short walk from the cabin. We also enjoyed the Christmas parade and fireworks which were excellent! There were updates to cabin from the last stay which were enjoyed by several family members, specifically the new whirlpool tub, very relaxing!

Fabulous lake house weekend for friends!

This house was GREAT for a weekend getaway in November! Exactly as promised in listing. Clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen let us cook a little Friendsgiving dinner :) We had 3 couples, one toddler, and a dog. It never felt crowded. We LOVED the fireplace inside and the location to the lake and town was walking distance. Pam was a fabulous host who communicated very well. We got to meet her and she was so kind. I would highly recommend a stay here!

Absolutely Perfect!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this property. Very clean, super neighborhood, close to lake and downtown area. Owner was so accommodating and this property met our every need. It’s a Hallmark movie town. So charming! We would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the front porch area and the lake views!

Great place near the lake

Great place. Kitchen is amazing. Three bedrooms up all have their own AC. Only quirk is that the upstairs bath has a tub with a hand held shower unit. Well stocked, close to everything. Will definitely stay there again

Lake View Excellence

This rental was perfect for us and our dogs. Easy access to lake and walking distance to city park, Main Street and The Surf area. Right in the middle of things and everyone cruises by so you get to see all who come to enjoy Clear Lake. The neighbors are lovely and people are so friendly in this beautiful small town. The lake is gorgeous and I recommend you get out on it. Plenty of space for us and we had some friends come visit and sat out on the front deck. Kitchen is huge and everything is there for those who want to grill/cook/entertain, we kept it simple and patronized many restaurants. Hosts are attentive and easy to contact and we would definitely rent again. I fully recommend this place and Clear Lake!

Great lake getaway

Really enjoyed this house and location. Just a stones throw from the lake, beach, and downtown activities. Cozy and well maintained home. Property owner was amazing to work with and communicate with. Looking forward to booking again in the future!

Great house for family

We enjoyed our stay at this cute house. It was super close to Clear Lake and the community park. When we checked in, one of the heaters wasn’t working. The property manager answered my call quickly and had her maintenance team there and he was able to resolve the issue. Very impressed with all the communication and quick response.

Comfortable!

Another fun year at the Winter Dance Party! The location of Away at the Lake is ideal for any event at the Surf only being a few minute walk. The cabin has all the comforts of home. We were able to entertain friends for a lunch and night caps after the Surf. We even stayed an extra night to rest and relax before our trip home Monday. Our trip was fun and because of our stay at Away at the Lake it was extremely comfortable!

We had a great stay. It was a cold weekend and we loved staying in, watching football, playing cards and enjoying the fire. Island in kitchen was a nice gathering place. Hosts were responsive and very accommodating!

Nice winter getaway.

My wife and I stayed for a quick weekend and couldn’t have been happier. We just built a fire and drank coffee in the morning and enjoyed the local restaurants for dinner.
