Just 4 miles away, the Georgian town of Cockermouth boasts independent shops, cafes and restaurants and is also home to Wordsworth House and Jennings Brewery. Closer to home Lorton offers a well-stocked village shop, popular pub and trout fishing lake.

Brimming with history, charm and grandeur, the stately accommodation boasts stone mullion windows, antique furniture, original wall panelling and timeless soft furnishings. A wood-panelled entrance hall welcomes you into the property, with plenty of space to store bags, coats and boots and a tiled WC complete with a Thomas Crapper lavatory. A professional kitchen with Range-style oven, electric hobs, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer is also furnished with a breakfast table for enjoying light meals or keeping the chefs company while they rustle up delicious feasts. Meanwhile, a utility room houses a washer/dryer.
