Very good value for money, very conveniently near the station (5 mins walk) and A12 but very quiet. Late check-in or early departure both fine. Good breakfast, Nice corridor decorations!

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, facilities, parking, breakfast. Tone down glam fixtures and fittings and make more sympathetic to the style of the building, for example carpets were amazing and within keeping, however the Romanesque statues not so

Rooms, particularly bathroom, not clean. Uncomfortable soft bed. Noisy pipes in room, and noise from nearby rooms/staff from 4am. TV was on analogue and needed to be retuned before it would work. Whole hotel needs an overhaul/renovation to be competitive.

Ok hotel for the price

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Fixtures and fittings in bathroom
Needed a reasonably price room - the room was a bit dated, bathroom light was broken (which wasn't fixed whilst I was there, despite bringing to their attention), bathplug leaked and mirror was cracked. But, it was reasonably priced and I slept well

Good value for money

Got a really good deal with ebookers (£115 for 2 nights room only). The whole place is very 1970s and everywhere needs a revamp especially the rooms. However, rooms were comfortable and staff very attentive. I would stay again.

Cons: Needs updating
Location: Convenient for colchester
Pleasant experience. Shower constantly dripping so had to change rooms but staff very helpful.
