You feel like you are back in the early 1900s, except for the comforts of home. Connie and Gary took great care of us and we enjoyed the conversation at breakfast and the food very much!

Elsah a step back in time

So relaxing and beautiful surroundings! Our hosts were amazing and the cookies at check in were so delicious!! The town of Elsah is literally you taking a step back in time! Over 50% of the town is the original buildings from the mid 18 hundreds! The Bald Eagles were very active when we were there! Our hosts gave us a private tour of the town’s museum it was amazing! You can’t go wrong staying there and visiting

We really enjoyed our evening away at Green Tree Inn! We were coming down south for car show in Alton but we were looking for a unique place to stay close by and Green Tree exceeded our expectations. The owners are a delight. Room was comfortable and classy. Breakfast and afternoon treat was delicious. Felt like a home away from home. If we have the opportunity to come back we deffinitely will.

Gary and Connie are the best hosts EVER!!! The attention to details was amazing. They made us feel like we were the only guests. The food was so good we had to buy their cookbook. Not going to lie, I am a bit of a clean freak, I typically bring my own bedding & cleaning products but there is no need as this place was spotless. If you are in the Alton, Grafton, or Elsa area this is the place to stay for sure. I give it 10 out of 5 stars!!! ☺

Delicious Getaway

Friendly, helpful hosts. Nice, comfortable room. Breakfasts were tasty (and very filling!) --- we easily lasted without eating until dinner. Not far to great hiking at Pere Marquette State Park and new gondola/chair-lift in Grafton. Good restaurants nearby (10-15 min) in Alton and in Grafton.
