Loved this mountain home! It was perfect for our family with the downstairs perfect for my 1 year old to sleep in a quiet place while the rest of the family was still able to hangout without disturbing her. The kids loved the hot tub and the kitchen was well stocked. Beautiful views and outdoor seating. Would definitely stay here again. We have stayed at several vacation home rentals and this is at the top of the list. Quiet and easy to get to and just the right distance from town.
The property was cute and a good size for us. The upstairs bathroom basically has a bathtub with a handheld sprayer which is a little awkward to use if you need other hands. It is also kind of drafty. So basically there is only 1 shower. We chose this house over another specifically because of the hot tub. When we tried to use it, it was about 66 degrees. We did turn it up to see if that would work. When we were getting ready to head out to the ice castles a repair man showed up and ended up needing access inside the house. It was a little difficult getting ahold of the managagement company and we were almost late to our scheduled time. If we had known that the hot tub wasn't working, that would have changed our plans for sure but they didn't notify us even though, they obviously knew since they scheduled a repair. We were also required to have all dishes washed and put away which makes it a bit difficult to eat anything before you leave.
I highly recommend this place. The views were incredible as well as the town was a short drive away. We had a great experience and will definitely be back. Also Cripple Creek is a great little town and the people are very friendly
Enjoyed our family vacation at this property. Great views from the back deck, plenty of room for 7, and liked that the grandkids had their own space downstairs. Minor issue with internet being out the first couple of days but you should be out in the great Colorado outdoors anyway. Know that itâs an old school tub upstairs with the shower in the downstairs bathroom. Hot tub cover needs replacing but doesnât interfere with enjoying it. Quiet neighborhood but close to Cripple Creek. In the evening you might see the local black bear wandering by.
The home is lovely and inviting. Plenty of space broken up into separate areas for entertainment. Lovely fenced in front porch and back deck. Some rubber matting by the hot tub would help due to the gravel outside.
Very relaxing!
We just got home yesterday from our Colorado Christmas vacation. All in all, we give the cabin a 4 out of 5. So thatâs pretty good. If we could change anything, we would put Firesticks on all TVs for easier use. (Some didnât even work). The faucets in the bathrooms need replaced, they arenât efficient for the set up at all. Our grill didnât have a propane tank that was filled and I feel that the smallest gesture could have been attended to, especially after contacting the owner and they tell us where to go pay and fill on our own instead of having that ready for our family meals. There were areas that need repaired and fixed as well. The cleanliness of the cabin could DEFINITELY be improved before a new family arrives.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Cripple Creek cabin and would return if some issues were addressed. I always read reviews before I book anywhere and I feel this is all the honest opinions of our family that were expressed during our week there and worth sharing.
My husband and I came to Colorado for beautiful weather, relaxation from two very stressful jobs, natural beauty and outdoor fun. Our opinions, this was a perfect location, far enough from the busy vacation crowds and close enough for a beautiful drive to everything the Pikes Peak Region has to offer.
The cabin was perfect! Very clean, welcoming, comfortable, all the comforts of home, peaceful and perfect for our several day stay. So much so, our next trip back will be in this cabin.
Note to owners, you have a beautiful home, thank you for sharing it with us. Beautifully decorated, the farmhouse sink and tub gives your home a unique and special feel. We loved it, thank you for opening your home to these guests from a rural, hot Oklahoma farm/ranch.
For anyone looking for a cabin in this beautiful part of Colorado, look no further!
Our daughter got married and this was close to the place. The owner was so very helpful to us. The bed downstairs needs a new mattress. We loved this place and will stay again.
Had a great stay at the CC Mountain Getaway. Cabin was clean and as shown in the photos. Great spot for a nice quiet family trip. The cabin feel isolated but still close enough to Cripple Creek to hit the casinos.
This is such a beautiful place with an amazing view! We saw deer, lots of bunnies and even a bear! This house had everything we needed. It was very clean and so cute. The hot tub and balcony were our favorite. We cooked every meal there and always ate outside on the balcony. Lots of laughter, fun, and relaxation was had by all. Thank you!!
The property was in a gorgeous setting and location. The house wasnt extremely clean on the inside (we ended up washing our bedding before sleeping) and the hot tub was very cloudy so we didnt use it. Cripple Creek was a complete bust. The Gold Mine tour was amazing . All in all, we had a great stay and would more than likely would stay here again
Enjoyed the property overall. Such a beautiful view. On 2 separate days we had deer run by only a few yards away. Wouldâve loved to have propane to grill but it was empty. That was upsetting since we brought food to grill versus eating out. Plenty of clean towels available. Upstairs restroom shower isnât ideal due to having to hold the shower head. Itâs hard avoiding water splashes everywhere. Cooking utensils need to be updated. There was only 1 knife available to cut with. Master bedroom tv and downstairs living area tv wasnât working. Several games to choose but we enjoyed the foose table and darts the most. Travel to the city was longer then we expected. Make sure to buy oxygen cans if this is your first trip out here. The elevation change definitely got to us.
We stayed at the house for two nights. Some of my family members were with me. My wife and I stayed in the master bedroom. The first morning my wife and I had a couple bites which we were to believe they were mosquito bites from being outside in the hot tub. The second day after sleeping in the master we were covered in over 25 bites from sleeping in the master bed. Our bites have lasted over a 12 days. When reported to evolve they notified the owners and sent a exterminator out days later after reporting the bites. They told us the exterminator didnât find bed bugs and evolve never did anything to refund our money. We sent in proof that my wife and I were bit but still dismissed our case. Very dissatisfied in vrbo and evolve. I work in customer service and have a small rental company myself. When things like this happen we take care of our customer. VRBO and evolve failed to do so. Will no longer book with or stay at this cabin.
The cabin was as pictured in the listing. Comfortable, cozy, decorated nicely. Only complaint is that the coffee maker was broken (a Keurig would be a better option for future guests). Also, the list of rules stated that guests are responsible for sweeping/mopping floors before leaving. Iâm pretty sure thatâs what the cleaning fee was for, so hard pass on that. Granted, had we made a supreme mess, we would have of course cleaned it. But regular sweeping and mopping when you pay a high cleaning fee is a silly request. Despite those couple of minor things, the stay was great and the cabin was a wonderful and spacious place to stay.
The good: This is a super cozy cabin. Over the last year and change we've stayed at three places with hot tubs and this one was the cleanest, which makes a big difference. As someone who has played too much foos ball I approved of the foos table there. Though we didn't use it, the grill set up on the deck looks awesome. The views of mountains and stars were amazing.
The not-so-good: I wish we'd been told someone was gonna service the hot tub while we were there. Having a surprise stranger on the property burst the private vacation bubble a little. And it's a little creepy that they have signs saying the neighbors are watching, with a picture of a person staring through huge binoculars. Like, just ask me not to have an outdoor fire, don't creep me out on my vacation. And the dart board is a digital one; those are so awful and unplayable that they shouldn't be called dart boards. And it's a stretch to call that kitchen "fully stocked," when it lacked basic items like a peeler, measuring spoons, and measuring cups.
