Great view, great beach and beautiful water. Love the snorkeling right at the resort. Rooms need updating such as paint, plumbing fixtures and some furniture. They no longer had the buffet and the menu was limited and the same thing every day. The outside of the property is beautiful but they need to work on the rooms and the air conditioning system. The Staff work very hard to accommodate you. We ran. Into some issues but Julio was a big help in resolving our issues and our food waiter Carlos goes above and beyond to provide the best service! Beach service was slow but it was easy to walk to the bar to get what you wanted. We even tipped the guys taking the seagrass on the beach because they did a fabulous job and work hard. Price, location and the beach is well worth every penny. We had been before and we are returning. We always tip for everything and we brought extra treats for housekeeping as they do their best.

Got stuck in elevator which was was horrifying. AC could not be adjusted. Horrible plumbing. Bathroom smelled like sewer. Staff was friendly. Clean property. Pool was dirty. Construction noise last three days of stay. Horribly old towels which were scratchy on skin. Food was great except bugs around buffet area.

The ocean view was the best part about the property. Unfortunately, it is extremely outdated and a lot of things need to be fixed. Upgrades are needed with the rooms. New beds, more outlets, add refrigerators and microwaves to heat and store food. The AC in our unit was horrible. Every night we slept it was hot and the room has moisture.

Don’t stay here if you value honesty. Or having no extra resort fees. Or a mold free environment. Or a safe put together building and floors. Or if you enjoy air conditioner in the building or in your sleeping room. Or if you like a bed that doesn’t sag down like the back of an old horse. Or a stain free sitting area on your own hotel couch and chairs to the lobby. Or a malaria free/ minimal mosquito biting because someone treats for them on site: don’t stay here if any of those matter to you. If I was there to just get sloppy drunk, it wouldn’t bother me to want what is insinuated in the pictures on orbitz and website. To want my family to not get sick or hurt, but I came for a family vacation in good taste and clean safety. This hotel doesn’t deserve this beach. But good news is you can stay at any down the same beach and have a beautiful short walk to wherever you want to, even right in front of this uninhabitable-would be shutdown in the USA-who don’t have the amenity’s they advertise and shamelessly lie to us about so many things including 100’s of more dollars forced to pay at check in and when finally getting into the rooms you don’t want to touch anything from the wet hairy shower to stains that are no doubt from water, food, liquor, dirt, body fluids, and etc…Would not refund and would not let us go back up into our paid rooms to take photos to show Orbitz. WARNING:they told Orbitz that they didn’t know we had any problems and canceled. Lies. ORBITZ WONT REFUND!! RUN

Staff were very friendly. Hotel becoming very dated and in need of urgent repair, especially in the casual dining area, where rain ingress caused flooding. It rained on a daily basis and staff worked hard to keep the area serviceable.

Mi marido y yo elegimos El Cozumeleño para un viaje con el propósito de renovar energías, y no pudimos haber tomado una mejor decisión. Desde el primer momento la atención del personal fue impecable: siempre amables, atentos y con una sonrisa, lo que hizo que nuestra estadía fuera aún más especial. La comida es otro punto fuerte; cada platillo estuvo delicioso, con gran variedad y calidad, realmente supera las expectativas. La playa del hotel es hermosa, de aguas cristalinas y tranquilas, ideal para disfrutar y relajarse. Además, la diversidad de peces es sorprendente, lo que la convierte en un lugar perfecto para hacer snorkel sin necesidad de alejarse demasiado. El hotel no es de lujo, se nota que tiene sus años, pero eso no le quita encanto ni comodidad: cuenta con todo lo necesario para pasar unas vacaciones inolvidables. El ambiente es muy tranquilo, ideal para descansar y reconectarse. En resumen, un lugar con excelente comida, una playa espectacular y un equipo humano que hace sentir a los huéspedes como en casa. Sin dudas, volveríamos.

They need to upgrade the rooms and bathrooms. They also need little bit softer beds. The view from our room on the 5th floor was perfect. We loved having Paulino and Eyahir being our servers and making our stay comfortable. I could recommend not going in September because it rained alllll theee timeeee 😭 and they didn’t have as much stuff available as they do in the summer or December and january

We absolutely loved our stay here. The beach was wonderful and so many fish you can see while snorkeling. The staff is wonderful and so very nice, they definitely make sure you are taken care of. The food is great, German and Roger will get you taken care of at the buffet. Fatima at the front desk is very nice, and if it’s too hot in your room, they will put a fan in your room for you. We loved it at El Cozumeleño. Cant wait to be back in December.

We have been to several.ptoperties in Cozumel. This property needs an upgrade that goes with their nightly rate. The front desk ia not very welcoming. The room we ended up inhad a toilet that did not work. The rooms should be inspected before a guest goes in. It says there are breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Only breakfast is buffet. And it is very limited. No oatmeal to eat. Only for fruit. Angelica and her morning crew were very nice. And the dinner crew, eapecially Manuel were stupendous. The dinner made up for all the craziness. I dont know if we would stay there again. The beach area was unforgettable though.
