Great stay! Had all basic necessities and was accommodating for our needs. Only had 2 things to be fixed but otherwise great stay. We will be back in the future, thanks!
Cabin was great and literally had nearly anything we could need. At ZERO fault of the owners, we were caught in flash flooding and unable to leave but we made the best of it. Will definitely stay again! Thank you!!
The landscape is lovely and farms are next door. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, solid, and quiet. It was perfect for 3 adults and visitors to relax and spend time together. In warmer weather the firepit and back yard would be fun! Short drive to dining at Rainbow Trout resort and Gainesville.
The cabin was cute and decor suited the surroundings. The bear was a nice touch! If you are looking for peace and quiet this would be the place. I believe it would be great for star gazing as well, however we had solid rain while there. Sitting on the front porch was relaxing listening to the water flow through the creek. We would have liked to enjoy the fire pit but the rain never let up. The weather cannot be controlled and in this case it was okay just to kick back. We did tour Glade Top and highly recommend going. The only major drawback (and it was important to me) was lack of cell reception. I had to drive to Ava for enough of a signal to check on things back home. Had I known I could not be reached in case of emergency, I would not have rented the cabin. Due to the time of year we were unable to use the upstairs. Between the "fake lady bugs" and the wasps there were dead bugs everywhere. Again, it was just that time of year both are a problem. I was more concerned about the wasps as I am allergic. All in all if you are looking for a quiet getaway, I highly recommend the place. There is enough space and having a kitchen allowed for cooking since we have special dietary needs.
My wife enjoyed staying at this getaway retreat. The home was fully furnished, very clean and very quiet. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the area.
Overall the place has my overwhelming approval. A few SMALL complaints. The internet was very slow in the evenings. The TV didnt work. They had a bunch of DVDs you could watch but no DVD player. The only other downside was no curtains on any of the windows so anyone outside could see in at night. All those are small things. We spent almost all the time fishing at Rockbridge so we were just there to sleep and shower. The cabin provided everything we needed and much more than the expensive little motel rooms offered by Rockbridge. I would totally stay here again.
Stayed with family for a few days fishing and was a short 10 minute drive to Rockbridge Trout Ranch. Secluded and had all basic amenities needed for the short stay.
