A quiet location, spacious rooms with rugged furnishings make this condo an ideal base for discovering the area. The kitchen is well equipped and the management team is responsive and helpful.
This is a nice condo with everything you need. The bus stops nearby for ease of transport. Since the unit is on the ground level, it's not very private with regard to people outside looking in. I do not recommend it for more than one adult couple because of the second bathroom which is small, dark, and lacking in space for hanging up towels. The queen bed was comfortable and cozy.
We were in Crested Butte for a family wedding. The condo was a great. Loved the parking garage. Alpine Property Management was communicative and promptly addressed the issue that we brought to their attention. Definitely recommend.
Property was as advertised: well-stocked, clean, and comfortable. Our first time visit to Crested Butte in mid-June was relaxing and enjoyable. The shuttle options into town and beyond made staying on the mountain convenient. The management was quick and complete in their responses to our questions (even the dumb ones).
We had a great time at this location and while I would normally think winter vibes it was great for our graduation stay! Only downside was the hot tub was closed but still running.
Our family had a great time staying at the black bear hideout. The space was clean, cozy, and inviting. We had 3 teenagers and there was room for all. The hot tub, stocked kitchen, laundry, covered parking, and fireplace were lovely to have. And the proximity to the slopes was superb. A short walk up the sidewalk, around the corner and we were there. We had a great time and would stay here again.
We loved the ski in, ski out accessibility. We also appreciated that our dog was welcome. The condo could use some updating, but it was functional and comfortable. Being on the first floor was a major plys! Would definitelybreturn.
Fantastic location with a nice underground heated garage. Walk across the street to lift. The property needs some repairs to kitchen appliances and some of the cooking utensils need upgrading (ie cooking knives, pans, etc). Community hot tub needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Furniture in master bedroom is too bulky making the room somewhat tight. Otherwise, the unit is a great.
We enjoyed our stay at Black Bear condos. Since it snowed several times, it was lovely to be able to park in the garage. Our son is in a wheelchair and there was lots of wonderful space in which he could maneuver around. We also had easy access to the bed in his bedroom. After several emails (that were answered quickly) with the managers of the property, they were able to assure us that we would have the space that we needed for our son and his wheelchair. The couches were super comfortable and we loved having all of the windows to let in the light and to see the gorgeous fall colors right outside the windows. The fireplace kept us really cozy, as well. It was just a delightul week in this lovely property. We are hoping we could return to enjoy more time in beautiful Mt. Crested Butte.
The condo is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful and the mountain is beautiful. The property manager checked in to make sure everything was okay.
My only suggestion is to have coffee in the unit. There is a drip coffee maker and a Keurig, but no coffee or creamer/sugar. A coffee shop is 5-7 minute walk away and the small shop in Mt. CB didn't have anything. Most VRBOs have coffee included at this point, especially at this price point.
This was our first time to Crested Butte & we will be returning. The condo was great. Fully stocked, comfortable and fun decor. We noticed a leak in the kitchen sink & the property management was right on it. We will be back & will be spreading the word!! Thanks for a great stay
Quick weekend trip in July to see our 19-year-old who is working in CB this summer. We usually try to stay in town in the summer but since we planned our trip at the last minute, most houses in our price range were booked. But I'm glad it worked out for us to try the Black Bear Lodge! It was very clean and comfortable. It seemed cooler during the day too, when we were relaxing in the condo after hiking. It also is quieter on the mountain in the summer than in town, and I love quiet. It also worked out well to have two twin beds in the guest room because our son brought a friend and that made it easy to accommodate everyone. We only cooked breakfast in the condo but had what we needed and two options for coffee. We played games the last night and overall, had a very enjoyable three-night stay.
The property was clean and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. It's in a great location for day trips or if you just want to stay in the Crested Butte area. Would highly recommend.
We had a great time being so close to the slope! The room was advertised as 3 Twin beds in one room. The 3rd Twin was actually a portable one and not really room for it in the guest bedroom. Overall a very nice place just wasnât the layout we were expecting.
