When you pull up to this cabin it looks quite rustic - which made us a bit nervous. Coming to the lake side on the deck and going in quelled all fears. It is kind of 2 cabins connected by a 3-season porch. For a mixed group it is a really nice arrangement. Going into the historic cabin, the living spaces, kitchen and loft are really nice. The kitchen is very nicely appointed with a grille right outside on the deck. Everything you need for cooking and grilling is there. The 'annex' cabin is 2 rooms and a bathroom. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are nice (also clean) - the main cabin has 2 more bedrooms and a bathroom, and the loft upstairs is a nice getaway if you need it. We spent a lot of time in the 3 season porch which was the perfect size for chatting, playing games, and eating for a large group.
Outside, the dock and sandy bottom swimming area was great - and easy for launching the kayaks and paddleboards. The pontoon is very nice. We used it for fishing in the mornings (decent fishing lake - northern pike, bluegills, sunfish, bass) and took evening cruises around the lake. The fire pit has new furniture and enough seating for a large group. Summertime s'mores, some beers, watching the sunset and listening to the loons is what north lake country is all about.
We dont typically repeat cabin rentals as we like to move around - but we WILL be coming back to this one.
