Quaint, clean apartment in a walkable location. Would recommend to others. Note you do hear traffic so if that keeps you awake, bring earplugs or white noise app.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this quaint apartment. It is conveniently located in the downtown Des Moines location and walking distance to a lot of things including the Wells Fargo Arena. It is also well stocked. We enjoyed our stay.
Was perfect for what I was looking for. A place to relax away from life for the weekend. The only downside was the stairs, with bad knees I just took it slow, but had read other reviews about them so was prepared. The owner was very good about communicating everything in an easy to follow way.
Steve was a great communicator from booking months ago to check out. The space was exceptionally clean and organized. The two portable air conditioners kept up surprisingly well the first day with 90 degree temp. A detailed house guide was provided with very helpful suggestions for bars, breweries, and restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the full kitchen was spotless. Very pleased with the host.
The apartment was so conveniently located near everywhere I needed or wanted to be. I loved the neighborhood and how safe I felt regardless of what time I was out walking the dogs. Also, parking was always available and the building was quiet.
I enjoyed the location, close to downtown. What I didn't like was the air conditioning made it sound like a window was left open and I was woken by morning and evening traffic. I missed it in the listing, the apartment was on the 3rd floor, hard to drag things up those stairs. Easy parking, loved walking around and checking out downtown. I would definitely stay here again but on a different floor! The shower is a tad small but everything else was good.
The issue with this property is the fact that I came into a place that wasnât clean where dog hair was all over the place. I asked the host in advance could they send me extra hand towels and I received 2 wash clothes on a 4 day stay. The place was on a very busy street due to heavy traffic from the hospital across the street. The building was cold so you would have to use portable radiators to keep warm. The regular radiators in the house didnât kick hardly any heat but it made a bunch of knocking sounds in the bedroom like it would get the place up. Only upside to this place is how close it is to downtown
