I really can't explain it, I my grandson and I've stayed in many hotels in and out of the United States, so I'm used to staying in the hotel but for some reason we weren't comfortable and left early. The place was nice but we were played so far back of the hotel I don't think we had any neighbors and my little room was clean buts a little dusty so nobody had been back there for a while. Hi everyone we talk to the person at the front desk b the tone of the hotel wasn't friendly.

The front desk staff lacks professionalism. When I arrive I was greeted by a man ina raggedy sweater and dirty slacks. He did not explain the incidental hold of $100 per day and we were staying for several days so I had a $500 hold on my card. That was the first Hilton that ever held more than $150 for incidentals. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets felt like rough paper towels. There is no evening room service and they charged $9 for a cup of matcha at the cafe. The value for this hotel is questionable.

Interesting hotel in the heart of downtown. I appreciated the restored, older look, and that lots of attention was paid to the architectural details. The experience of stepping back in time was neat, for sure. However, with regard to the general things about the hotel: The front desk staff was a little stuffy...not very welcoming, and somewhat cold. The hotel "scent" was pretty overwhelming in the lobby. It felt like we were sitting in the middle of a smokehouse, which we were told was the hotel scent mixed with the wood oven in the restaurant. The rooms were fine, like a normal Hilton room. But, we ran short of coffee pods, which they were unable to replace, and there was no free coffee in the lobby...everything was charged. I thought Hilton had standard amenity offerings, like the coffee, and for the room price, I was surprised they did not. Seems like the higher-end Hilton hotels should offer MORE, and not less. Drinks in the "speakeasy" were ok, but overpriced. Now that I feel I have "experienced" this hotel, I doubt I'll be going back.
