I arrived there with my family, and after a long wait at the front desk, to find out that our room was not available and there is nothing they could do. Apparently, the manager and assistant manager do not work on the weekend, and the receptionist couldn't get a hold of anyone. the cleaning crew had gone for the day, and the rooms were not clean to give to us. we booked our room 3 weeks in advance and checked in online. We had to find another hotel in the area to spend the night. They cancelled our reservation and asked us to speak with our third-party vendor to get refunded. We are yet to get a refund. What a shame.. nice water park with the wrong management. I read the reviews and was expecting a delay or not a clean facility but I was surprised to not find a room all together. I didn't plan for that one. what a waste. This is very unfortunate. I wish someone will do something about it.

The staff was very friendly and kind especially at the front desk. What I did not like is it felt dirty-partly because the carpet was very worn, our room had a hole that s the carpet the beds were not comfortable. Also they did not clean our room while we were there and we had to get towels from the front desk.

Needs updates. Bathroom door won't stay closed. Door frames are rusty. Desk chair was broken. Only had towels and washclothes for two people to last three days and had four people in room. Pool area only open for weekends and wasn't notified until check in. No towels in pool area to dry off.

Nice room, uncaring morning staff.

The water park is only staffed/open on Friday and Saturday and that is not disclosed until you arrive. The room did not have a bathtub for the kids - only a shower with a shower head that sprayed water all over the floor. There was a glass wall that did not keep the bathroom from being utterly flooded. In the morning the breakfast attendant was nowhere to be found for over 30 minutes. The waffle batter dispenser was broken and the cereal dispenser was broken. When we told the front desk about the issues the desk person said “that’s not my department” and went back to playing with his phone.

I had reservations for 2 queen beds, but when I arrived I was informed that someone else checked into my room. I was assigned another room. I went into my room and found out the tv wasnt working, the bathroom door didnt shut or lock at all. There was so many children running and screaming down the halls at 1am. I believe the person that was assigned the room I got didnt like it for the same reason I did. So they probably got the room switched. My children and I were so tired I didnt want to wake them up and ask for a different room. I was very upset and disappointed, this wasn't our first time here so I thought our experience would have been the same as the last time but I was wrong.

I’ve never had this bad of a hotel experience.

No towels. Bathroom doors don’t close or lock. No bathtubs and the showers get water all over the floor. Front desk doesn’t answer the phone ever. The room phones don’t work to call to the desk. You have to walk to the front desk and hope someone will help you every time you need something. The carpets in the rooms are wet and absolutely filthy. The sofa bed was broken. The fridge barely cooled. The hot water ran out for showers. Th wonky saving grace and reason we didn’t immediately check out was that my kids loved the water slides. Worst hotel.

With the right management it could be a great place. It had an attached pizza place and the pizza was not eatable. The crust was so hard it was like a teething biscuit. The check in was great but only 1 person to do it. It has a small water park great for like 12 snd under. But all Friday Saturday and Sunday never had towels. Rooms were clean.

As others have said, the property is run down and requires repairs. In saying that, when we first arrived, neither TV in our room was functioning, but maintenance came up quickly and got it going, so that is a plus. The staff was friendly but a little understaffed. Overall, it's an okay place to stay, and honestly, we would stay there again, but just know that it's an older water park hotel, so it does get a lot of use and needs a little TLC.

The entire reason we book in Des moines was for the "waterpark" here. We arrived on Thursday and were notified that the water park was shut down. Kids were extremely disappointed. They were only allowed to swim in the small regular pool. Upon checkout we found out that they currently only open the water park on certain hours friday/sat /sun. This would have been nice to know ahead of time! Breakfast wasnt great. No protein options. Waffle mix wouldnt dispense. Otherwise it was just prepackaged processed foods. Kids enjoyed the arcade. Place was nicely updated and mostly clean.

The television would not work and the phone to the front desk wouldn't work either. We told them about the tv and they told us what to do but still wouldn't work even to come on. The phone would ring on my end and they could see I was calling but unable to connect.
