We recently stayed at Palms of Destin, and while there were a few positives, unfortunately the negatives outweighed them for us.Pros:* Great location—very close to Henderson Beach, which was a huge plus.* The parking garage was convenient and easy to access.* The beds were comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep.* Walmart and several restaurants are just minutes away.* We didn’t use the pool, so I can’t comment on that amenity.Cons:* The elevators were extremely unreliable. It seemed like they were out of service more often than they were working, which was frustrating.* Our patio was dirty when we arrived and even had a cigarette butt left behind.* The cleanliness inside the condo was disappointing. There was sand on the floors from the moment we walked in, and the decorative bowl on the kitchen table with the flower vase still had several pieces of popcorn in it from a previous guest.* The towels had a sour, musty smell.* Around 11:00 p.m. one night, the smoke detector started beeping because of a dead battery. My husband had to drive to Walmart to buy a replacement battery so we could get some sleep.Overall, the location is excellent, but the lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues, and poor upkeep made this stay disappointing. Based on our experience, we would most likely choose to stay somewhere else on our next trip to Destin.
