The location and building property was great. The pool and beach were perfect. Our condo however definitely needed repairs. We had a one year old who spends his time crawling or walking around furniture. He was filthy after a short time on the floor. The entry into one of the bedrooms has several cracked/busted loose tiles that the solution was to put a rug on top which isnât great with a one year old. We reached out to Modern Beach rentals who quickly sent a cleaning crew up to clean the floors again which really didnât do much. I also mopped the floors myself to try and make them cleaner. Itâs really not the fault of the rental company but more the owners. This unit needs some major repairs. The closet doors would not close, the storage container when you entered the condo had two broken legs so it sat lopsided. We had a broom but no dust pan? All the things one notices immediately upon entry. The mattress in the master bedroom is on plywood of which you saw when you turned the bed down. I hate to sound so critical but we have stayed several places in Destin all right along where Jade East is and havenât encountered so many issues. Would we stay there again, maybe but would certainly look more closely at all the units for cleanliness and details. We love coming to Destin and return every winter for several weeks itâs our happy place.
