I absolutely recommend you stay at the El Moore Lodge when traveling to Detroit. The building has all the modern amenities, but still has the historic charm/feel you want. The staff is very friendly, tons of places close by you can walk to for food and drinks, and superb coffee every morning for you to enjoy.

First of all the building renovations are phenomenal. Second the staff is uber friendly and kind. Third the rooms are great (I booked last minute and had a small first floor one but it was still great). Clean place, sweet breakfast, market next door is awesome. What a find! Having stayed at 99% of downtown's best hotels, El Moore is my next go-to for future trips.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay for an overnight in Detroit. The building and grounds are so beautiful. Love the historical and unique components of the El Moore. I could live here! And, the value is unmatched. Secure on site parking and breakfast included in a reasonable price! Our unit (the Cass) was so cozy and comfortable. Very clean. The staff was professional, welcoming and so friendly. The lady who was here when we arrived (Harriett?) was so sweet and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We travel monthly and this was one of the coolest locations and such a historic building to stay in. Absolutely beautiful. The room didn’t have a TV or any entertainment options, but the location was wonderful. We were able to walk to great restaurants, bars and shops, as well as to the Detroit Pistons game. Would definitely stay here again!

If in Detroit, stay at the El Moore !!

The El Moore is an absolutely beautiful place !! The history. The quality of the restoration. The midtown area close to museums, dining, downtown. Lovely clean room overlooking the front garden. Spacious bathroom. The bed was a tad soft for us ( Others may like it) Beautiful parlor with great selection of books. We did not watch TV; we read books about the architecture and history of Detroit. Breakfast is both healthy and delicious!

Good food was close by, be was comfortable, no fridge or any to purchase on site that we were aware of, ac could only be turned down to 71….it ended up being fine but a tad on the warm side ….all in all good but berate access could’ve been appreciated

Great stay!

The El Moore Lodge was a great experience in the heart of Detroit. Small/Boutique building with residences above. The staff were very friendly. There's a lovely park next door and a market around the corner. I will definitely recommend this place to others!
