Pros: Luxurious but not too formal
Location: Private beach.
This hotel meets all my needs. Rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is as good as you will find anywhere, the Belgian cafe is a great place for a drink and or a meal on the outside terrace or in the enormous bar. Eat outside for lunch or dinner at Mykanos Greek restaurant and there is at least one other restaurant I have yet to try. The pool is excellent for adults and children and there are plenty of beds and umbrellas, plus of course a garden bar and cafe.

Nice Hotel but getting a bit dated

Pros: Food
Location: Its next door to the St Regis, (which is more modern and does a fabulous Brunch) 10 minutes to the City and also the Pearl.
Nice Hotel by the beach with pleasant grounds and pools. They are refurbishing some areas, of the Hotel. They are building a new kitchen for the pool area and Restaurant in the same area. The Greek restaurant called Mykonos has just reopened and the main Breakfast, lunch and dinner hall is also complete. Food quality was very good. But typically the two inside bar areas allowed smoking so for a non smoker it wasn't too pleasant. The prayer room was being relocated and as it was close to the lift shaft, it was noisy at times. The rest of the hotel is clean just old style, my bathroom work top was bas badly chipped and poorly repaired. I stayed in the ocean view superior room. Try to get a sea view because non sea view will look towards a construction site, the St Regis or a car park. It lacks a classy cocktail bar - they need to understand that we don't want to just drink beer in a dark pub style room. It was October Fest while we were there, which was a beer festival in a large marquee structure - sound proofing was not great, so the music could be heard in my room despite the double glazing. I was there for 5 nights in October.

Building work was not mentioned before we booked

Firstly the hotel is being extensively extended so there is a lot of building work going on. This means many parts of the outside are cordoned off and the beach is not fully accessible. It's also noisy during the day. Secondly there is a lot of building work going on outside the hotel which is external to the hotel. Our city view room actually had a view of building sites and was not attractive. I feel we should have been warned about the building work before we booked and I think the prices should have reflected the building work. It is not possible to walk anywhere from the hotel as it out on a limb. There were major problems with many taxi drivers refusing to use their meter and wanting to charge overly inflated prices. We were surprised at their dishonesty. We had a few long waits for a taxi at the hotel. I wouldn't choose this hotel again.

The hotel has a very nice and quiet pool area and always enough free loungers. You are also directly on the private sandy beach. Cloths and water are provided free of charge. When it comes to rooms, the variant with a sea view is recommended. The fitness studio with new TechnoGym equipment surpasses everything. Breakfast is also in a class of its own. You can eat in the hotel or you can take a cheap taxi or Uber to a nearby mall (Doha Festival City, for example) where you have a huge selection of restaurants. The staff does everything they can to make your stay unique. We would definitely come again.
