Check-in and wait staff were very friendly and helpful with advice for sightseeing and directions. I didn’t catch their names but a special callout to the young lady who checked us in along with the bar staff young man who was supporting her as well as to the morning breakfast / checkout woman who took care of us.

Nice architectural. I didn’t care for the dogs in the bar/restaurant area as several dogs were barking loudly at each other - this is not what I want in restaurants where I eat! There was an outdoor sign saying well behaved dogs were welcome - not sure what their definition of well- behaved is? Based on the above I cannot recommend this place.

Lovely overnight stay and dinner

A very comfortable overnight stay on our travel north to Scotland. Check in was efficient and quick. We had a nice evening meal in the restaurant. It was really busy so glad we had reserved. The choice of food was good with some daily specials. All our dishes were fresh and delicious. The drinks list was interesting with good options. In the morning we opted for cooked breakfast which was extra as only continental breakfast was included. All in all a good experience. Will definitely consider again on our travels north.

Little Gem we found for 1 night on our 2 week Scotland holiday. Small hotel in a small town. It was a great stay in a fun, tiny little town of Doune.

Very quaint hotel with lovely decorations. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable. We enjoyed finding some snacks in our room. The included breakfast was tasty and perfect for our needs. The walls are a little thin but we turned on the fan in the room for white noise and it worked great.

The Woodside was a very nice hotel in a good location within Doune. My family enjoyed the stay. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The restaurant had good food at reasonable prices, and a very good to-order breakfast included in the room price. There is a well-maintained trail loop along the river to Doune a very short walk from the hotel too.

The Woodside was a lovely place to stay! Quaint, clean, quiet, and I loved the bar/restaurant which welcomed us upon arrival. Breakfast was delicious and the waitress was so accommodating and friendly despite us arriving a few minutes late. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Hannah, Fraser, and Lara were lovely to talk to and gave us a lot of helpful information about Scotland and the local area. I would definitely stay again!

Impromptu stay (good weather) so booked at night at the Woodside. On arrival a nice wee bonus to be upgraded. Our room and the other facilities were spotlessly clean, the bed comfy and the shower great. The bar and restaurant both for drinks, dinner and breakfast had excellent choice and beautifully cooked….but what made the Woodside special was the staff….the service was excellent and friendly. Great stay, we’ll be back….with friends in tow.
