Hi, I would like a refund for my stay. I was not able to check in because the ID verification page was down and the property had no in-person front desk.
The host responded very slowly and the phone was not reachable after the first call. I was standing cold outside with absolutely no one on the street to help. I was lucky to find a lodging place down the street. This experience was definitely not what a traveler was expecting in an unfamiliar and less populated city by yourself.
Both the property and Expedia should make this clear that this is an unmanned lodging with nobody to help and questionable reliability. If you want a peace of mind, you should be looking for somewhere else.
This was an unfortunate case due to a technical issue with the website. Once again it is up to your call as I have no procedural power to let you refund me. I cannot even reach out to Expedia about past booking. But in good faith I think the property and Expedia should refund the traveler and do better next time.
