The cabin was as described and we were all very happy with the home itself. We did find that to be the extent of expectations being met or exceeded. The major appeal of the cabin was the proximity to the lake and views it would offer. The trail down to the dock, and the dock itself, were extremely overgrown and did not feel the safest to walk down. Additionally, the handrail was broken about halfway down. Some other issues we had were the lack of cleanliness, the grill had no propane, the horseshoe pit was overgrown and missing a stake, and the canoe was stashed in the woods and filled with water. This was also my first experience with a home share where condiments, coffee/tea, and other basic household pantry items were not available, which was a disappointment since we traveled from out of state and did not pack those items. Overall, the house was beautiful but the hosts preparation for guests seemed half-hearted.
Perfect location for our sibling trip, beautiful location and cabin. The driveway took some getting used to, be aware itâs a steep drive down to house and garage. Sunset on the deck was amazing.
This beautiful cabin style house was the perfect place to get away and relax. The walk down to the lake is beautiful. The house was well kept. Would definitely recommend a stay!
Stayed 3 nights during holiday season with kids and grandchildren. Everyone loved the cozy feel to the cabin. Beds were comfy. Kitchen great for lots of cooking with family. Fireplace was awesome! Close to Trollhaugen for tubing and skiing.
Cool log home with a very comfortable feel. Space was good with family get together. Very clean with updated bathrooms and family room downstairs. Kitchen/dining room area was a very good space for having family together.
Beautiful home on Lotus Lake with so much to do in the area
Our family of four greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home, which had everything we needed to feel comfortable and cozy while also having so much to appreciate outdoors. The location is very close to lots of beautiful hiking trails and sightseeing as well as the towns of St. Croix Falls, Taylor's Falls, and Osceola, with lots of shops, restaurants, and things to do. We stayed there in the early spring, but lucked out with some great weather so we could enjoy a fire in the outdoor fire pit by the lake, and grilled each night on the beautiful deck overlooking the lake. We also loved the indoor fireplace and large living room (and downstairs family room) for plenty of games and cozy conversation. We even were able to enjoy horseshoes outside and foosball in the garage. Communication with the host was easy and responsive, and our entire experience was top notch. Would definitely stay again!
Absolutely loved staying here the pictures didn't do it justice. We absolutely loved everything about this place but what put it over the top for my kids was in the in floor heating.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay some time in the area.
We stayed at the Lodge at Lotus Lake to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday with family friends and our kids. We went skiing at Wild Mountain on Saturday, and Trollhaugen Ski Area on Sunday. Everything was so close. The house was perfect for big groups and the space was so inviting with Bluetooth speakers, extra linens, and even board games and books that were appropriate for all ages, including my 3-year-old. We are hoping to come back in the summer as well.
We stayed at the Lotus Lake Lodge at the end of July and had a blast! The property is very quiet (aside from the local gun range noises) and close to everything in the area. Very kid friendly and family-oriented attractions within a short drive! The kids enjoyed kayaking, seeing wildlife, exploring and playing some of the vintage arcade games at the house. Only bummer for us was that we could not swim or fish in the lake. The house was very clean and the hosts were quick on communication. Would come back again!
Nice little reprieve for a couple days. Quiet and clean. Was there to sleep, not hangout. Many things to do, 10-20 minutes drive time in any direction.
The kitchen is well stocked and convenient. The bathrooms have plenty of towels, essentials. The decorating and cozy feeling is felt throughout the lodge. The pre-teen and young teen really enjoyed the foosball table, games, etc. Overall, a great place to stay.
Spacious, gorgeous remodel, fun canoeing. Only problem is we told my 4 year old granddaughter that we were going to a âcabin.â How will we ever stay at a state park cabin again? We are trying to get her to call it a âlake houseâ instead of a cabin. Awesome hosts. Soft sheets, comfortable beds, giant garage, fun games, toasty fire place. Hope to return!
I was impressed of the comfort and detail of the cabin. In floor heating on the main level was very comfortable for our winter stay. Property owners where very nice and easy to communicate with. Great view of the lake and quite neighborhood. We will be back in the summer for another stay. Thank you
Amazing time skiing, hiking, cooking, games and generally carrying on with family. The heated floors cozy up the place quickly. We loved the beds, bidets and eagle sightings. Great space to gather. Definitely needed 4WD to get out during an ice storm. Weâre already talking about next year.
