The neighbourhood is lively, which means noisy at times, but really well located to walk around Dublin. The beds in the bedroom are comfy, which is not really the case of the sofa bed... A few things were missing: we were 6, but there were only 5 large plates, no real frying pan (only a small one for crĂȘpes!), no kitchen towel, no dustpan and the white curtain in the bedroom is not ideal to sleep if you are used to sleep in a dark room... And something should be done for the smelly bins downstairs in the hall, it is awful!
The location is perfect for access to all parts of the city. There is confusion on the address as it is listed as 12, but in messages says 10. It can be difficult to find. The good: location, clean, beds comfy (sofa bed was ok for 1 petson), grocery store is right across the street or next door, owner was responsive about entry and allowed us to access early if needed. The not so good: Noisy street; curtains do not cover windows fully in the front room and not blackout in the bedroom; entry smells of trash and urine; laundry is down the hall, not in the kitchen; kitchen is lacking some supplies (fry pan, cutting board, knife set); second door doesn't lock securely and neighbor kept propping it open.On our last night here, we witnessed the store across the street having an altercation with a shoplifter, assault of a security person and a police chase. This summarizes how the street feels and warnings we received from taxi drivers.
Great & busy location. But no clothes washer in apartment
The propery is clean, spacious, and very centrally located, just north, across the river, from the Temple Bar neighborhood. The street is very busy with foot traffic basically from sun up to sun down (which is 6am-10pm during the summer months.) The apt is quite despite the foot trafic below. The closest tram station is about a 5 minute walk. There are ample options of ethnically diverse food & a marvelous Irish pub, The Celt, just steps away from the outside door access. The only draw back was mentioned in the title: although in the description of amenities, and in the photos it shows a clothes washer, there is not one in the apt. This washer has been removed from the kitchen area and just a hole remains. If you are counting on having this convenience, like i was, make sure they have replaced it before you book this unit.
Excellent location- close to buses, trains, LUAS, easily accessible. Lots of room and clean bedsheets and towels, dishes and spices. Only negative was the window coverings in the main room are too short and let light in at night.
The apartment was very clean inside, however the hallway did smell like trash. The host was very responsive and helpful! The location however was unfortunately a little dangerous and that is my only complaint, which I was okay with but it may not sit well with others who are traveling and are unfamiliar with the area. I was a little confused as the address listed said 12, but the actual address was 10 talbot street, but I was able to find it and parking was accessible being only a 5 minute walk away. Overall, it worked out for me but again the location was my only concern!
Several things were in disrepair. No washer in the unit as detailed in pictures. And almost zero instructions about the unit. Also poorly stocked. But location is fantastic. Hope the host can improve on a few things cause this has a lot of potential
My friends and I were doing a trip in Dublin and it was a good place to stay at. The pictures match the property to a T and it was very clean when we entered. The part of town that were in is a bit iffy but we didn't experience any trouble and the noise volume was good as well (we didn't hear much throughout the night). Would recommend :)
