A lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the restaurant (Nick Nairns Kaleyard) is fantastic for both dinner and breakfast.

The staff couldn't be more helpful and we felt very welcome. The food in the restaurant was delicious. It would have been nice to have had air conditioning as the weather was hot whilst we were there but other than that the hotel was wonderful.

Room was a bit dusty Thought the pool was small and didnt like that we had to go out the hotel to get to it Food and service were excellent

Not built for hot summer days!

Welcoming and friendly. Although had pre-booked an evening meal with package was told had to book in quickly whilst checking in to reserve a table as it was busy that day. Luckily we were able to reserve a table but others just after were disappointed. It would have been nice to have been told re the requirement to reserve a table at the time of booking. Room was far too warm despite open windows and the fan provided (it was a very hot day). Air con would have been so much nicer especially with two adults and two restless children in the room. Food was fantastic. Would stay again.

Nice off season break

Pros: The room comfort, breakfast and the pool was good
Cons: A refurbishment of the rooms would improve the rooms, also the showers etc in the pool changing area.
Location: On the edge of the town.
Comfortable clean room, although would benefit from refurbishment. Reception staff were efficient and polite, but the waiting staff in the dining room let the hotel down with a poor service over dinner.

We tried 3 rooms before given a half-decent one

Pros: Not much.
Cons: Service, accommodation and food.
Location: Pretty location.
We tried 3 rooms before given a half-decent one. The first had the lift built into the room space. The secomd was over the kitchen extractor fans and the third which we settled for had an internal view with frosted windows. The male Duty manager said that is all that was available in our pay band, ut at £129/night In Dunblane, I would expect better. We ate in the Nick Nairns restaurant the first night. Shockingly bad. Poorly cooked food with stone hard root vegetables. When I complained staff were disinterested. I intend to contact Nick to tell him to check the chef is on par. Breakfast was a bun-fight with 200 conference delegates on a death and bereavement programme. Again most food badly cooked. Some sausages were undercooked, while bacon over-cooked and rashers all stuck together. Horrible machine coffee. Staff were scarce, and again disinterested. Very very poor overall. A bad experience, and I think there is much nicer, friendlier alternatives available. Doubletree is usually so good.

Great overnight stay

Second visit to this hotel. Staff were great from start to finish. Room was amazing again. The restaurant was lovely. Would recommend anyone to try out this hotel

Husbands 70 th birthday

Been going to this hotel for years, always had good time, food is brilliant, and the staff very friendly. Good place to go for special treat.
