My husband, our adult daughter, and I stayed at this very comfortable, well-situated property for three nights and absolutely enjoyed our stay. The interior is lovelyâeverything was new, clean, and in perfect working orderâexactly as described in the VRBO listing.Our only small surprise upon arrival was realizing that the â50-acre, Stay & Play oceanside destinationâ is a community of modular âbox homes.â But once we stepped inside our concerns vanished. While the community is technically âoceanside,â this particular property, though it offers an ocean view, is situated a distance from the beach (a 10-15 minute walk, as described in the listing). That said, the beach itself is beautiful, and the community has its own private section.We loved having breakfast outside on the gorgeous deck, and one evening we were treated to the most spectacular sunset Iâve ever seen!While Port Hood doesnât offer many restaurants or shops, Mabou is just a 15-minute drive away, and we had a fantastic evening at the iconic Red Shoe Pub. This property also makes a convenient base for exploring parts of the stunning Cabot Trail.As hosts, Iryna and Michael could not have been more helpful. They were readily available for questions and checked in with us to make sure everything was going smoothly. If Iâm lucky enough to visit Cape Breton Island again, I wouldnât hesitate to book this property.
