This rustic lodge property has character and is a comfortable stay! Highly recommend staying for a low stress casual visit! Host/Hostess is great to work with.
We picked this house because it was the perfect distance between downtown Durango and Purgatory Ski resort. It had everything we needed for a basecamp. Would definitely stay here again.
This house is not Joanna Gaines trendy, if thatâs what youâre looking for⊠itâs full of real-life used items, cozy like your grandmaâs house. There was a nice separation of private spaces, with several public places-the game room was an absolute got with the grandkids. I will caution that there are MANY steps to navigate and most are without hand support. This was a bit challenging for our family, as we had 3 generations using the house. I am absolutely certain that our stay will be fondly remembered by all for years!!
Great communication and lovely home with great views of the train as it passed by in the mornings and afternoons. Great location close to town and amenities. Very close proximity to the hot springs. Plenty of space to accommodate our group of 8: 5 adults and 3 children. We came up to ride the Polar Express and made beautiful memories as a family. Only wish the house had been prepared for us to feel a warm welcome. The heat was off and it was a very cold 55 degrees inside upon arrival.
Great location, close to town. Host was very accommodating. Laundry & kitchen were great for our family. Wouldnât recommend for older guests, the stairs are very steep and uneven. It made it hard for our grandparents to enter & exit the home.
The location is perfect for going into Durango and also accessing the trails for hiking, and other mountain activities. Excursions to Ouray, Silverton and even Telluride can be accomplished in a day.The house had everything we needed and very clean. It is an older home that's not perfect but extremely comfortable. No A/C but cools off in the evening and fans are available.Definitely would stay again. And Taylor was a great host and responded to all questions immediately.
The owners were very communicative and friendly. Pros:-4 bedrooms-Lots of space for parking-Clean-Rooms were large-Grill-Large outdoor area for kids to play Cons:-Farther from downtown so if you want walking distance itâs not for you. However if you want more space and less people than this would be a pro. -Upstairs bathrooms only had a tub and no shower.-With the slanted roof you couldnât stand up properly at the sink and in the tub-No AC was very warm upstairs -Only 1 TV in the main living space-If youâre older or have walking issues/disability the stairs to get into the place are extremely steep and some have a very large step up distance. -The place is definitely more rugged than the pictures show
Good place to stay at, very fun and had a nice time with me and my Family I would recomend for anyone trying to stay here in Durango. My kids and nephews had a blast in the jacuzzi.
We had a little one (3) and 4 adults staying for a quick get away to spend time together. The reviews are spot on, house is clean, we enjoyed the game room over the garage, and the furniture is comfortable and well laid out. Wifi is quick, TV easy to use, and beds are comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and appliances worked well. The parents of the kiddo really appreciated the washer and dryer (and the laundry soap provided). The hosts are very responsive, some of the best we have had over the years.
Loved the cabin and the area. The location was nice as we traveled north to sightsee but were only 5 minutes to Durango. I will definitely stay here again!
The property was setup nicely for hanging out, making meals and having access to so many beautiful places to explore! The property does not include shower gel, soap or shampoo so we were caught off guard on that but otherwise everything is provided. The game room and basketball court were awesome to use as well! Loved the valley and mountain views, and seeing the sunrise each day.
We are a family of 5 adults. This cabin was unusual for several reasons:1 - This is not a good choice for mobility challenged people. The steps up to the front door are challenging and there is a spiral staircase up to 2 bedrooms and bathrooms.2 - There are only 2 showers. There is a full bathroom with shower in the master bedroom and a shower stall in a room off the laundry room. There are no showers upstairs.3 - The front door lock was unpredictable, so we mostly left the house unlocked when we left.4 - The beds were comfortable and the kitchen seemed adequate although we did not cook at the house.5 - The location was good for going to Purgatory Resort.
