Overall the location was fantastic. Very close to Purgatory ski resort (maybe 1.5 miles), the pool and hot tub were great, and it was only about a 25 minute drive to Durango. Only suggestion is that listing indicated there was a grill on the balcony of the unit, but discovered upon arrival grills are removed during the winter months. There was a grill at the clubhouse in Cascade Village that worked just fine, but feel like the listing needs to reflect a unit grill is not available during winter months. Overall, very convenient for a ski vacation and would rent again. Appreciated the communication with the owners.
Overall, we love staying at Cascade Village due to its proximity to Purgatory, overall amenities and how quiet the facility generally is. We were sad that The Lift Restaurant had closed, but Old Schoolhouse Cafe was great. The cleanliness of our unit was lacking and thatâs our only real complaint.
Overall a great experience.
Updated Condo in Cascade Village.
Very clean.
Warm and hospitable.
Easy access to Purgatory Ski Mountain.
Comfortable beds.
Plenty of kitchen utensils.
2 large TVâs (but itâs almost impossible to have both of them on at the same time and be able to listen to each of them. The 2nd is in the loft, which is just above the Living Room).
Garage is great in winter time (but itâs not an enclosed garageâŠmore like a carport)
Few things we would have liked-
*firewood they provide wouldnât burn long term. We donât know why. Bring your fire starters. But even those donât help. Much.
*water in shower of upstairs guest room was lukewarm at best. Never got hot.
*no local channels. (But they have a Roku TV)
You will enjoy this property. Plenty of room for 8 adults. Great property.
The property was as described. My family and I really enjoyed the time we spent here. We did a lot of outdoor activities and it was nice to come back to a clean, roomy and cozy place. The kids loved the bunk beds and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out.
The places was exactly as described. Cozy, easily accessible and near the skiing lifts. Three moms with their kids got together for this adventure, we don't regret it, it was a blast. The code made it easy to enter for all of us.
The only con was that we were allowed 2 spots to park, but they are not assigned. When we returned one day, the spot near our door was taken, so we had to park further out, which I'm sure it bothered the other condo occupants.
Heavy construction outside of our condo the entire week was difficult to live with.
We arrived on a Saturday evening. Sunday was pleasant but we noticed multiple large pieces of digging equipment at one end of the multiple condo property. Monday morning before 8:00am all of that equipment was hard at work. Two large backhoes, two smaller front end loader, several dump trucks, and assorted other pickups and small equipment proceeded to dig a large ditch and put an 8-foot diameter pipe together all along the length of our 20 condo building throughout the rest of our stay. They worked 8:00am to 8:00 pm every day. You could hardly hear yourself think. Talking with family we had invited to stay with us was difficult. Instead of a quiet mountain vacation, we lived in the middle of a construction site for a week. No one warned us, apologized to us, or made any attempt to help the situation. I realize life has to go on even if Iâm on a vacation. But I paid thousands of dollars to get away and to relax in the mountains. Instead it was louder and more disruptive than any week Iâve spent anywhere in my life, vacation or not.
The place is unparalleled and truly enjoyed the views
Overall great but few things to improve -
The unit number is actually 2 while it was everywhere mentioned as 102. Was very difficult to find and spend 30 mins to figure it out. Please get it corrected.
Some cleaniless issues while was specifically requested a few days back. All sugar sprinkled over kids room.
Hot water was constant problem every day. Only 2-3 people could get hot water to shower. We had to wait while we wanted to get out of home and enjoy the area. We called thrice and then gave up.
Toaster, some light switches etc. didn't work
Some beddings very not in great order.
But, we loved the coziness of the house and the view.
Perfect location with stunning views. Condo was well stocked with everything we needed. Very easy access to the slopes. Chris, the property manager was very responsive. At present, heâs helping track down a sentimental item left behind. We will definitely be back!!
We really enjoyed the condo. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was well stocked with kitchen necessities and common household items. The beds were super comfy and waking up to the breathtaking mountain sunrise was breathtaking. We skied Purgatory for 4 days and the convenience of this condo (less than 2 miles) was great. This trip was probably our best ski vacation ever. We will definitely be back!
Stayed here to ski at Purgatory with my family (4 kids/2 adults). Comfortable, plenty of space, well stocked and beautiful location. Pictures and description are accurate. Happy to stay here again!
We truly enjoyed our time at the condo. It was easy to get out kiddo to snowburners on Saturday morning, and we didn't have to deal with traffic. The beds and layout for comfortable. The kids were able to spend some time upstairs playing in the loft area and the bunkbed room while the adults played cards downstairs. Overall, we loved it and are already trying to figure out when we can stay again. Thank you so much!
We absolutely LOVED our stay here! Chris was very quick to respond and help with any questions we had. This place is 100% family friendly, we had a 8 month old all the way to a 65year old and every person wants to come back next year!
Iâd have to say that my husband and I were in awe with the Mountain View from out bedroom!
Thanks again Chris!
One big family from Texas!
Property is located about 30 minutes north of Durango on 550. About half way from Durango to Silverton. Easy check in and check out. Would stay here again. Clean, quiet, and met the needs of our family of eight!
