Beautiful location. Very clean and comfortable. Hosts were very quick to respond to questions and needs before and during our stay. Kitchen is well equipped for most cooking needs. We used the gas and charcoal grills, both are well maintained. Perfect for a quiet getaway away from it all.
Spent a long July 4th holday weekend with my family of 5. The place was wonderful! Our super busy family enjoyed being able to relax, kayak and spend time together.
We couldn't be happier with our fourth stay with these wonderful hosts! Great fun at the creek and in the spa and lots of nearby spots to relax, fish, picnic, hike and find serenity. Highly recommended.
Mitch and Bobby are the best. We stay here a few times a year because it us the oerfect place to get away with a small grouo of friends. Beautiful, private, and very well equipped. The creek is so peaceful, and the house is very comfortable! We love it.
This is pur 3rd time ar Serenity and it is truly peaceful and restorative. It's perfect for 4 lifelong friends who just need time and space to talk and laugh together.
We loved our winter getaway here! We had 6 adults and did a lot of cooking and found the kitchen to be well stocked. The property was very clean and organized, and communication with the hosts was excellent. We loved the hot tub overlooking the creek with a view of the mountains. We can't wait to go back in warmer weather!
Very Beautiful home. Very clean!! Scenery and privacy was amazing. Highly recommended!!!
Easy access to everything.. very spacious kitchen and living room area. Hope to come back in the summer!!
We absolutely LOVED the home and the view! There were 8 of us in the family spending Thanksgiving together and we had an amazing time and plenty of dpace along with everything we needed. The hot tub was a huge favorite! We even got to see some otters playinhplaying in the stream!
This was our second time here, and the house is absolutely perfect. Well-furnished, creek and firepit are both awesome, and the location can't be beat.
My husband and I came here right after our wedding in Charlottesville to spend a few days away with our dogs and unwind. Safe to say that our dogs would have preferred we move in! We really enjoyed our time here and took the kayaks out several times with our dogs swimming alongside us or racing on the banks of the creek. We also had plenty of time to unwind on the back porch and enjoy the complete silence and being away from it all.
The house was exactly as advertised and the hosts were immediately responsive to what ended up being a non-issue for maintenance concerns.
This is definitely on our list of places to return and is among the very best of homes weâve stayed at on VRBO and similar platforms.
We had a great time escaping with some kayaking on the creek and lounging on the patio furniture and in the hot tub.
Local hiking trails nearby offered another scenic escape for us and our dogs, but if you want to stay on the property for your trip, there is plenty of land for your dogs to explore and be free to roam.
Our last night we made grilled pizzas after soaking in the hot tub, then topped that off with with a sunset fire roasting marshmallows from a s'mores kit provided by the hosts.
Wifi measured about 200 mb/s upload/download, but be advised there is little to no cell reception outside of wifi.
It was exactly what we were looking for, and we highly recommend visiting.
Side note for beer drinkers: coming from the DC area, we stopped at Devils Backbone Brewing Co on the way (maybe an hour or so from the cabin).
Beautiful views, crisp air, enjoyable creek and plenty of great amenities hosted by a wonderful and attentive couple. It is Serenity, just as the name says.
We absolutely LOVED our first stay in the Virginia mountains! The house and property were absolutely perfect, and the area even more so. Thank you to the hosts for making it an unforgettable vacation. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to this area.
Thank you Mitch and Bobbie for sharing your beautiful home with us! The house was spatious, clean and full of extra amenities that were so thoughtful (creek towels, extra blankets, water guns for the kids, smores, firewood, games, puzzles, tubes, kayaks, canoes!)
The creek is a gem - so private and secluded - exactly what we were looking for. We found several deep swimming holes down the creek where we could float and paddle comfortably. We spent most of our time enjoying the crystal clear water from the pebble beach across the creek and our older boys caught lots of fish in the canoe.
The hot tub was very nice and clean - one of the nicer hot tubs we have used at a VRBO. The outdoor shower was also really cool! Tons of patio seating and amazing fire pit
We went to Roaring Run Falls and it did not disappoint-! This is only 10 minutes away and worth it. We went in July and the kids swam and played on the rock water slides for hours.
Tip for the creek - bring water shoes with a good sole!
We enjoyed our stay with kids of all ages at Serenity. We appreciated plenty of firewood, kayaks, and clean towels and bedding. The creek is beautiful and the nearby hiking trails are a great complement to the property.
The house was well appointed and clean and comfortable. The view was great. We loved the board games, fire pit and hot tub. The stairs to the steam are very steep and water was too shallow to swim, but for teens and middle aged adults, it was perfectly wonderful to splash around. I guess the only other thing to know is that it is pretty long drive (45 minutes?) from anything resembling a grocery store or restaurant so come prepared.
We spent 4 days at the house with my wife, mother-in-law, and daughters with their boyfriends. Everyone had a great time.
House is very well stocked with everything we needed. We cooked every meal and never came up short on kitchen stuff. There's even a waffle maker. Lots of towels for the creek (and the kids used too many!).
TV and wifi worked perfectly. No phone reception out there, but we didn't miss it.
Owners were very helpful and gave us good directions to a put in for tubes. We spent about 1.75 hours floating downstream and took out right at the house. That was a lovely day.
Kids spent a lot of time sitting by the creek and in the hot tub.
It was a perfect stay and we will return.
We are lifelong friends who get away together a few weekends a year to recharge, so we've rented a *lot* of houses. Serenity is one of the best - very quiet and peaceful location, excellent hot tub, well-stocked house in terms of kitchen as well as little touches here and there. The creek offers lots to do and watch (we saw beavers one evening!). We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and have already made reservations to come back again!
