Lovely weather, beautiful screened porch view and experience. Adorable unit and location. Fortunately, our third travel member had to cancel at the last minute. Otherwise, the incorrect property description would have been a problem. The description says: two bedrooms, one king, two futons. The actual setup is one bedroom, one king, one futon. If not for the description problem, definitely a five star experience.
The owner's directions are sent prior to checking in and they are super simple to follow. This property's description doesn't reflect the unit correctly. This condo does not have two bedrooms. It has two rooms; a kitchen-living space equipped with a futon and a bedroom with a king size bed and a futon. The kitchen is well stocked. The owner thought of everything from a corkscrew to a lobster pot. The livingroom portion of room has basic furniture. There is no air conditioning in the front room. There's an oscillating fan.Overall, this unit needs a deep cleaning. The floors needed to be swept and mopped. There were cobwebs and spiderwebs in the corners. Additionally, there were ants on the kitchen floor, trash can, and counters. The bed and futons were not the most comfortable. They were well used and definitely needed attention from the owner. My husband and I agree that the location, the Boothbay region, the food and the activities offset the condition of the unit. The sunsets are incredible!
The unit was perfect for our stay. It was well appointed and nicely decorated. The location is great as you are close to Boothbay Harbor but not in it. Ocean Point is a fantastic place to walk to really experience the Maine coast. The screen porch was a hit with the seating area and table where you could see Linekin Bay. Bed was comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed with a gas grill outside. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a hot water problem and a bit hard to reach the owner! Once taken care of, everything was perfect! Would definitely recommend and would love to return.
So, I had spoken with the owner several time prior to arriving and had good expectations and we thought all would be OK when we arrived. We did have some communication issues but they were all related to VRBO and not the host.
When we arrived, the place with filthy to say the least. (I have pictures if you would like to see). Spoke with the host about the condition, which had not been cleaned at all since the last renter. She attempted to get some cleaning staff to take care of the place, but after no further communication, I called her back and she said couldn't find anyone and she would come clean the place but that would be hours later. She was out of state at the time. We decided to stay and make the best of it vs her offer of paying for a hotel for the night. We bought cleaning supplies and took care of what need to be done. We let her know that would be absent the next day so she could handle the cleaning duties. She did tell me that she personally cleaned the place and let us know when it was ready to return. We agreed that she would reimburse us for the first day of stay. The place did appear very clean, but the moldy smell did return.
The other issue has been with the reimbursement of our stay. We checked out July 14. As of July28, no payment has been received. She told me that a money order had been sent but but her "credit union is lax". Attempt was then made via Venmo, but was "too frustrated" to complete". Now a 2nd money order has been sent, per owner.?
This unit sits in a lovely coastal community; however, the unit itself is extremely damp and musty. With chronic Apnea and a Mitral Valve disorder, I was forced to vacate my two-week stay a week prior. I had a dozen or so water bugs throughout each room. I had so looked forward to enjoying the dock and waterside, but it wasn't meant to be.
This is a beautiful location but the actual property needs help. to start, we found another spot and were refunded. The condo was musty, there was no hot water, internet or TV. The bed sheets were dirty. i had difficulty reaching the host and she initially made many excuses but in the end refunded my money. the issue is that on a holiday weekend in Maine at 10pm, there is nothing open. Fotunately - Smugglers Cove (excellent) was able to keep us for the 10 nights that i had booked at this property. to add, there was no hot water for 2 + days. if it was clean and in working order, it would be a very nice spot.
We were a party of 9 staying in two separate Vrbos. My husband is wheelchair chair bound due to a left hemisphere stroke affecting his right side. Although the condo was accessible for his wheelchair he did had difficulty get in and out of the bed and on and off the toilet since the safety bas was only on the right side of the toilet.
Overall, the condo was listed accurately in vbro and the location was âspot onâ for our needs. My husband is from Maine and we usually get VBRO s on lakes due to cost. This condo allowed me to give my husband a very memorable experience for his last trip to his home state.
Owner was very responsive to our questions and flexible during the planning stages of this trip. Recommend this condo for couples who enjoy sea views and relaxing at a central locationâŠ
My husband and I love coming to this Vacation spot! It has all we need without overdoing! It is cozy and the view is so beautiful! We sit down on the dock every evening and watch the sunset! So great to get away from the stress of everyday living! Close to many places to visit and shop too!
Only problem encountered initially, was resolved by the owners quickly. Checkout the Booth Bay General Store up the street. Good fishing at peer. Booth Bay Harbor is close by with exceptional food.
We had a great time at this cute condo. The view of the water was stunning! We spent hours on the screened-in porch enjoying the sunsets, without bugs to contend with. Kathleen was a great host, providing everything we needed for a wonderful stay.
