My wife and I stayed in this cottage for a nice getaway in Tortola.
- Less than 10 minutes walk to Josiahâs Bay Beach
- Great air conditioning unit in the bedroom for a cool nights sleep!
- Space to park rental on the property (inside the gate)
- Lovely garden and beautiful view!
- Jenefer was available via call/text and was very helpful with answering questions
- Highly recommend this space!
This is the perfect spot for a couple who enjoys either boarding or body surfing! It is an easy walk to Josiah Bay Beach. The bungalow is surrounded by plant and bird life and is most relaxing. Thanks to Jenefer for great communication!
The property itself is as pictured and lovely. The staff is very helpful and eager to help make the stay great. My only complaint which is no fault of the property are the roosters that crow all night long right outside the bedroom window. If you are a heavy sleeper you'll be fine or bring white noise and headphones.
No TV -no fix
No phone
"Outdoor Grill" - not operational
Josiah Bay Beach NOT "footsteps awayâ.
Running water discolored: light brown. Toilet water
brown.
"Gazebo" outdoor furniture in great disrepair-furniture rotted
âFully equippedâ kitchen had a small propane stove which had to be manually lit with matches. There was NO kitchen ventilation-stove rusty and peeling paint Refrigerator dorm sized and leaked constantly
Walls damaged due to water
Electricity inadequate- at the same time. Electric extremely questionable.
Room has ONLY small indoor wall mounted AC unit- water dripping down wall and side table. Bathroom consists of a toilet closet- no sink. Shower is step in closet, drain surrounded by sharp broken tiles.. Toilet shower combo shares a single sliding door which you slide back and forth according to function required. No ceiling in the shower or toilet cube â mere couple of feet from the sounds and smells as you light the propane stove.
Bed not king
Closet doors half missing.
Roosters make sleeping difficult. Commercial traffic starts as early as 5am and the roosters crow all hours. No option to close the rusted shutters-roosters feet from your head under window-not "rustic"
NONE of blinds work.
âluxury linensâ- mismatched and worn
Used VRBO many times- shocked by misrepresentation.
Island at 95% capacity-no rebook avail. We tried.
Listing needs modification for accuracy. Owner had to be aware of shortcomings. Embarassing situation all around.
Our family had an amazing time in Josiahâs bay at the lime leaf! The cottage is very comfortable is well designed and has everything you need for the stay. Thanks Jenefer!
The property is misrepresented- it says âon beachâ - it is nowhere near the beach. It is very isolated and even a cab is very difficult to get- the driver asked why we would book a place so isolated- we had no idea! When the property manager was contacted she offered a refund but has since reneged. We felt very unsafe here and would never recommend this property!
The host is amazing !! When we first arrived we werenât able to get our rental car and could not get to a store so she had her daughter bring us food ! She was helpful with every issue we had while staying ( none of which were related to the house). Josiahâs Bay Beach is an easy walk or extremely short drive and is picture perfect. If you crave five star luxury this isnât the Ritz but that is a good thing as far as we are concerned. Def I it would would stay again.
Listing just as advertised, and then some more. Cottage is well appointed with all your needs â coffee maker no filters needed, towels, beach chairs, beach towels, beach games, home games â a wonderful, clean, and beautiful cottage. Communication with the property manager was excellent. Internet was great. We would return in a heartbeat.
I was working out on Miskito, So distance from trellis bay was nice. For a work trip the house was pricey. But I really enjoyed the home, it felt like a home. I could imagine if my sweat heart had joined me sitting on the porch in the evening. Very clean home well equipped.
Great communication with host!
I was lost when I first arrived and she drive to fetch me at a gas station where I ended up.
Very lovely people at the gas station as well. Shout out to bobs gas station!
When we discovered the Internet was not working and it was part of why I booked lime leaf, the host was on top of it! By the next day she ordered a new âboxâ and had it installed, internet worked great! Faster than at my home in the states!
I really loved being able to have Josiah bay just steps away, surfing after work was nourishment for my soul.
Thank you lime leaf and bvi for being such gracious hosts.
Wonderful cottage on the best beach in the Caribbean
We spent 32 glorious days at Lime Leaf in Josiah's Bay and cannot recommend this property and the location highly enough.
The house itself is the quintessential, Caribbean cottage - colorful, practical, and teeming with personality. Perfect for long and short term stays - the linen closet is chock full of bath and beach towels and the kitchen has everything you could possibly want or need (including a blender for homemade pina coladas). The bed is comfortable, the living and dining areas are inviting. Wifi is fine, there is a smart tv for your streaming entertainment, but more importantly tons of beach reads (and beach chairs).
The real wow factor is the cottage grounds. Professionally landscaped, the yard is its own haven inside of paradise. The large stone, covered porch has comfortable seating and tons of beautifully potted plans, but the piece de resistance is the private outdoor shower. Imagine yourself having a refreshing shower after a day at the beach, slipping on one of the complimentary Lime Leaf terry cloth robes, and sipping a cocktail on the porch - NOT BAD!
Located a short walk from the beach, Josiah's Bay is the most beautiful and isolated on the island. Known for its waves, the most common sighting aside from pelicans are a couple of surfers (also keep your eyes peeled for the horse and pony duo that frequent the beach and the neighborhood). The beach bar - Near-D-Beach- has the strongest and cheapest rum punch on the island (open every day usually by noon).
Jennifer is the most amazing host. She picked us up at the Ferry dock, drove us to pick up our car, and then had us follow her to the house for a personal tour. She was beyond responsive - part house manager, part concierge she genuinely wanted to help us have the best trip imaginable.
You will not regret staying at Lime Leaf or in the funky, friendly, and devastatingly beautiful Josiah's Bay.

Beautiful cottage on Tortola
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary staying at this lovely Parham property February 16-21, 2019, located on east end of Tortola. I recommend getting a rental car to get around on this beautiful island because you'll want to see it end to end. The roomy accommodations were perfect for the two of us and the kitchen was well equipped. Cottage location is within walking distance of Josiah Bay where the surfers go and it was relaxing to catch some rays watching surfers play in the water. Shall herd of cows migrate down the road and back daily and chickens make the rounds adding to the charm of the area. We would definitely go back. A BIG thank you and shout out goes to property manager Jenefer in recognition of her thoughtfulness and kindness shown to us as well as her invaluable help and support.
We had a great time even though Tortola is still in the recovery stage. Amazingly this little gem was not damaged. It's on the road going to Josiah's Bay Beach, about 1/4 mile to the beach area. We had some issues with electricity due to electric crews working on the lines when we arrived, but all in all it was a wonderful trip. Josiah's Bay was a quiet beach with mostly surfers (which is why we went to Tortola) and you had the beach mostly to yourself. There is a lot of damage on Tortola as well as the other islands, but don't let that deter you from going and spending time there. They are working around the clock to get things back together.
Our family of 4 (mom, dad, 4yr and 11yr) had a wonderful time at this little cottage. We have usually stayed in a resort type setting in the Caribbean. We loved being "part of the neighborhood", and adventuring on our own. I will say that driving on the island is not for the faint of heart, but my husband loved it! Our host was lovely, checking on us to make sure our needs were met completely. We walked the short walk to the beach several times a day, to collect shells and watch the surfers. There is a restaurant just up the hill (The Tamarind Club) that is great for grabbing lunch or dinner. We went to different beaches every day, exploring the island. We defiantly want to go back. It just feels like our little place! By the time our 8 days were up, we knew the lay of the land, had made some friends, and really didn't want to leave at all. I would have no hesitation recommending this adorable cottage. Jenifer, the host, was so welcoming and friendly. She made great suggestions for our family on where to go and we had quite a great adventurous vacation.
We had a fine time here for a week. Had everything we needed in the house and it is artfully appointed with beautiful furnishings. We found it to be a bit small for 2 without much privacy. For example the bathroom is virtually in the bedroom, room dividers, but no ceilings - but it served our purposes. While not on the beach, it was as close as we could get. A car makes the beach visit much easier than walking. This is the best beach on the island. Hours of entertainment watching the surfers or surfing ourselves. Plenty of shade spots. Good food at Naoimi's. Get the veg roti plate. Jenefer, the owner is terrific. Loaded with information. Thank you.
