This was one of my favorite stays in berkshire county. I have been up there no less than 7 times and I thoroughly enjoyed the Stargazer Farm. My wife and I had an epically romantic weekend complete with a roaring wood fire, thunderstorm, and homecooked meal. We stayed in all day and sat by the fire while listening to classical music and surrounded by interesting antiques to reflect the mood. The kitchen was supplied enough for me to cook a pot of vegan bolognese and we enjoyed it with a glass of wine by the fire. The only challenge was the splinter I got under my nail while stacking wood but Christine was right there with tweezers and crisis averted. I couldnt have asked for better. Thank you!!
The host, Christine, was extremely accommodating. In fact, she even asked what type of milk we would like her to stock in the frig for our breakfast. The question I always ask is âWould you go back again? The answer is a resounding,âYes!â Easy adjoining the delights of the Berkshires.
We needed a weekend away from the city, we couldnât be luckier to have stumbled across this little gem! Seclusion seclusion seclusion! The living space is majestic - like staying in an antique store! We spend so much time exploring the books and anrtwork.
And the pool, set in a lush field - complete privacy and utter relaxation
While the property owner is on site - we did not see her once, we shouldnât have even known she was there!
Highly highly recommend.
Weâll definitely be back!
Wow! Christine's property is like a hidden gem. Nestled in the woods the property has the feel of a small farm. With a big red barn and an outdoor swimming pool the home is a great retreat/get away. The house has an amazing living room filled with beautify objects, paintings, and antiques. If you want to rest in a quiet, lovely spot this is your place. Best of all it is affordable. Thanks Christine for being such a good host!
We stayed to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, thoroughly enjoy the place. The furnishings really set the mood, antiques, and in immersive setting. It was really a plus to have some food stamps on hand grateful for this. We also stop messaging with our own shopping a bit. Christine what is a wonderful host. I strongly urge you to reach out and meet her. Gracious and accommodating, but also a very private experience for us. The pool was clean, and the solar cover made it a decent swim for late August. All the plantings around the pool and garden were much appreciated. The property is secluded and well-kept. We are already talking about a return trip.
The house is a trove of trinkets, my mum would have been overjoyed but I felt cluttered. Old food in the fridge and cupboards, whilst intended to be useful, was really unappealing to me. The listing didnât mention the adjoining property and internal doors and finding this did make me more uneasy than I was hoping for. The pool was great, very quiet and peaceful. The tennis courts were also setup for pickle ball but weather meant we didnât manage to play.
Star Gazer Farm lived up to expectations and more. Beautifully designed space, very warm feel inside, wonderful fireplace, and many many thanks to our very accommodating host Christine who gave us some awesome recommendations in the area, and generally cared about the quality of our stay. Will be back!
I would love to give Christineâs place 1 star so no one else goes and it can be our private get away, but I canât because itâs so great! Awesome place with a truly amazing host, you canât have a bad time, the pictures donât give it justice . Restaurants/town close enough (15 mins) but you feel off the grid and in your own, a really special spot
This was a great property, Christine was so nice and helpful, the fireplace was wonderful and the place is cozy and unique with great art and antiques and furniture but still comfy and lived-in. Would come back again
My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway that would allow us to swim. We didn't expect to find someplace so calming and interesting! The pool was fantastic - definitely got good use from it! There was a gold cart available to drive around the property which was a nice little perk. There's wildlife on the property and a lovely cat. We ended up choosing this place because the interior had so many interesting things to look at, which felt like a nice back up plan in case the weather was rainy. Christine was super responsive while also giving us space. 100% recommend!
Self-contained apartment with private entrance adjacent to ownerâs farmhouse: large, antique-filled living/dining room, well-equipped kitchen, full bath with lovely shower, loft double bedroom upstairs, gorgeous swimming pool & tennis court on the grounds. Very special place, and owner Christine, retired antiques dealer, is a treasure trove of information and very attentive host.
