Antler Guest House was ideally located for our weekend stay in Leith.
The No. 11 bus put us practically at the door and having the tram nearby was great.
There are loads of places to eat and drink nearby. We liked the Brunswick Book Club with its heated outside terrace and La Casa (although the latter isnât ideal for people with hearing difficulties - all hard surfaces means itâs incredibly noisy, but the food was very nice).
Shirley and Margaret are great hosts who took time to make sure we had everything we needed.
The house in general is lovely and our room was very impressive, beautifully decorated and with some really thoughtful touches. My husband in particular enjoyed the âwee dramâ that was provided and the information folder was very helpful. For me I was very happy to find there was a proper hairdryer provided, which would save me having to pack my own in future.
Thanks for a lovely stay. We would definitely return.
Shirley and Margaret were lovely hosts! The room is so cute, the place is very clean, and it was quiet and comfortable.
Itâs on a quiet street away from the festivities of Old Town but close enough to easily catch an Uber or bus. The #11 bus runs right in front of the guest house and takes you to Princes St where itâs an easy walk to everything. Buses are easy to take, tap your credit card and have a seat- no tickets required.
There were small two cafes nearby we went for breakfast, Kukina and Bonnington Brunch and a nearby pub (Brass Monkey) that had really good Philly Cheesesteak, burgers (and other stuff) for an easy bite when we had a long day. Theres also a laundromat by Kukina and Brass Monkey that was convenient but I recommend getting there when they open, it is small and washers filled up quick the day I went.
The only issue we had, and for me more of an inconvenience, was I booked on hotels.com and selected pay at hotel. Please select pay online through hotels.com or whoever you book through. The ladies are not set up to accept credit card payments. I had to pull out cash. I called my bank asked for an increase in ATM withdrawals and paid that way. I would rather not done it that way and thought hotels.com shouldnât offer pay at the hotel option for this one so just make it easy pay online.
This place is such a gem!! Definitely book it!
If you want to get away from the touristy vibes of Edinburgh this is a cozy little spot in Leith. Close to all transportation and a short bike ride away from the beach...with that being said the seagulls in the area would not stop squawking even into the night time hours
Our room had everything we needed. Very clean and modern. Bus stop right outside the guest house or tram 10 minute walk up the road. Great for our 3 night stay in Edinburgh.
Quaint house, quiet street - easy access to centre
The guest house is located in a quiet residential area a block away from a commercial road and easily accesible to/from the city centre.
The bus stops are right in front of the house and it only takes 15 mins to get to the centre.
The house is nicely decorated and very clean. The room we got was spot on with everyting needed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom looked newly renovated.
Ms. Margaret (host) is wonderful and very eager to help with anything you might need.
Very well presented rooms in a great location. Quiet at night too, which is a bonus. Couple of issues for us, I had booked the superior room with two singles and a double, but room was actually a double with a very small single bed in an ante-room. Although the description says free on-street parking, this isn't accurate and we were advised that parking at John Lewis might be a good option, despite that being a 25 minute walk away. Did find free parking close by, but it is only free after 5.30 and before 8.30, so had to wait to go back to the guesthouse and leave early to avoid getting a ticket.
Beautiful, clean and comfortable accommodation with great attention to detail.
Good position, within walking distance of many attractions. Excellent bus service.
The best place to stay in Edinburgh! Lovely and very helpful host, amazing room, clean and cozy. Definitely would recommend and will stay again. Thanks!
Highly recommended when visiting Edinburgh.
Walking distance into the City Centre and free parking on the road near the guest house. The bedroom / bathroom was modern ,clean and comfortable.
Information supplied collecting the keys and getting to our bedroom without meeting the host.
Available in the bedroom are tea making facility along with a small fridge with treats in also a small decanter of whisky . The area is very quiet. Would definite stay again.
Thank you x
