The central location places a guest near most center city attractions and within walking distances. Downside were the occasional late-night crowd noises and few outlets for any sundry or drug store needs.

The first room we were assigned at check in had no AC. We had staff come and check the thermostat in the room because it was so warm and they opened a window but there was no breeze so the room was very warm all night. In the morning I shared my concern with the front desk and we were moved to a room with AC. Who knew such a thing existed when we checked in!! The first room had no working telephone and the outlets didn’t work. I assumed it was my adapter but it worked fine in the new room the second night. Location was terrific and we walked everywhere! There were some great restaurants handy.

Convenient

This is very convenient for food, nice pubs and restaurants with both indoor and outdoor spaces. It is also a convenient walk to most attractions. Great view of Edinburgh Castle from the street. The bed was a little hard and the pillows a little flat from an American perspective, but that seems common in many places we’ve stayed in Europe.

It is a very comfortable hotel, easy to use everything. I am 84 yrs old and slightly infirm. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to shower while in a hotel. But the shower was spacious and the faucet very easy to manipulate. The floors are no skid type tiles. I felt very safe.

Perfect Stay!

Apex was right in the heart of everywhere we wanted to visit in Edinburgh. The stag was friendly and accommodating - even checking us in early instead of just holding our bags while we explored the city. The hotel was clean and accessible.

The lobby area was a bit worn looking. The on-site restaurant was also not open so we were told to go to their next door sister property. The biggest complaints were the hard beds and the small bedroom. We got a queen with the fold out couch for our son and it was hard to walk around the room...also because there was a support beam in the middle of the room. The bathroom was nicely sized and had nice amenities. I appreciated the tea center and fridge.
