Turned up 40 minutes before 15.00 check in time, having checked in on line hoping to get a room key. No one at reception then someone turned up and told me to go away as it was before 15.00. Radiator in bedroom didn't work. Lots of the paintwork was chipped.

The was very clean but as with all older hotels a little wear and tear is to be expected. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even Magnus the hotel cat was very friendly!

This is our second stay at this hotel. We got the same room 110. Is it the Expedia room? TV is about 7 to 8 feet high off the floor, and a foot from the high ceiling. Carpet is all rippled, a accident waiting to happen.

Really lovely stay. the beds were very comfortable and great shower. the staff were super helpful and friendly. the hotel was great location to city centre and bus stop was right outside. would definitely stay again due to the affordability.

First room had a leak around the window. Staff quickly switched us to another room. Wifi wasn't working we reported this to staff but nothing was done. We reset the router ourselves by unplugging it and then wifi worked fine.

This hotel was perfect for our visit to Edinburgh, room was very warm, clean, bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The hotel had a bus stop down some steps that took you into Edinburgh, the buses were very regular. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will return.

Nice spacious room - quiet and comfortable. Adequate breakfast - good hot food although bread offering could be better. Lovely staff at breakfast but reception staff could be more professional. Told nothing could be charged to room as ‘ this is a business and people could leave without paying ‘ - quite an insult.

Fabulous hotel, perfectly situated just on the outskirts of Edinburgh, bus stop just outside and takes approximately 30 mins to get to the centre, Room was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast choices were great, plenty for everyone and different variety, all in all i have nothing but praise for this hotel and I look forward to staying there again in the future - thank you to all the staff who work hard to maintain such a wonderful place
