I canât begin to explain how disappointed we were that there was no laundry machine even though the listing indicated there was. We would never have picked the rental if we had known. After traveling for two weeks before arriving in Edinburgh and had planned on doing laundry to keep us going for our week in Scotland. We were able to overlook the broken toilet seat and the sewer smell in the master bath, the four towels we were given (for a week for 4 of us) and the noisy street and disrupted sleep BUT no laundry was the final straw!
The property is not for the faint of heart. You need to be in shape. It is 7 flights of stairs in a poorly lit stairwell. Then another flight once inside the apartment. It is located off the Royal mile so convenient but noisy. No A/C and windows did not open properly in the home. Washer dryer door was broken making it hard to wash the few bath towels avail for our week stay. TV not working in family room and stairs in home and hallway very creaky. Would not recommend for family with small children. OK but not great
Lovely apartment - a lot of stairs to get to the apt but once there, it is fantastic. Large kitchen with everything you need including a full-size fridge, Nespresso, and a washer/dryer. The bedrooms were on the 2nd floor and were decent sized and well equipped. The lounge was also on the 2nd floor and could easily be used as a bedroom. Having 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Only downside was how loud it was outside - folks party in the street until 2am. It was warm so we tried sleeping with the windows open a few inches but that did not work. Had to shut the windows and use white noise machines. Highly recommend the restaurants on either side - Larder for breakfast and the pub for dinner. I would defintely rent this apartment again, a great choice.
The location was perfect with easy access to shopping, restaurants, pubs and castle. Bed and pillows couldâve been a little better and donât forget about the four flights of stairs but we managed just fine! Would definitely stay here again!
This apartment is all about the Location , a short walk from the Train Station . Just off the Royal Mile , with Edinburgh Castle at the top and Holyrood palace at the bottom. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars with live entertainment nearby
We had a wonderful trip - the apartment is central to everything and walking distance to lots of the main attractions in Edinburgh. Bus stops to anywhere are just round the corner and thereâs a little shop for essentials not too far away. Deliveroo options a plenty. The apartment is well equipped - there were even brollies at the front door, although weâd brought our own. Everything is wooden so can be creaky, but that just adds to the charm!
Be aware thereâs 49 steps up a communal stairwell (the kids counted) but other than arriving with a heavy case it wasnât an issue. The kitchen / diner is on the lower floor and everything else upstairs - the lounge, main bathroom, twin room, main bedroom with 4 poster, en suite and a desk area.
We would definitely stay here again!
